Has anyone got access to the tech drawings for LH/LX toranas?

I need to check the dimensions on the front end of mine as my mechnanic reckons my car has taken a hit at some stage of its life. We have been replacing the bushes throughout the front end and we cannot re-align the the font end with the frame precisely. There is quite a considerable difference and when we compare to others at the wreckers we are not sure we have a good example there to take as gospel either.

Bit more info in this THREAD , but copy of front end tech drawings would be highly appreciated ....

Digging up an old topic I must admit. Trying to find some more technical drawings for a UC hatch I'm converting to a LX. (no not mine)

It appears to have some slight rail damage and I want to get straight before remove inner guards if that makes sense.

Ive printed out the that LX2DR supplied (thank you so so much) and I was wondering if these specs would apply to hatch?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I will start a build thread soon by the way if your wondering.

If you take a look at that attachment, it seems to show the dotted lines where the B pillar & door for the hatch are so I'd assume you could use it?

Haven't started measuring. Just about to make a trammel. Car o liner wanted $1,062 for one. Making one from bunnings stuff at $86.

j.e.d I think your right about the dotted lines. I have a really good UC half cut here that I can get measurements from.

I have a copy of most of the engineering drawings for LH-LX toranas but there are very few dimensions shown on any of the pages, and nothing that would help measure up the car.

Interesting, what size are these and how detailed (profiles,end view etc)? Any chance of a copy so I can fill in some dots and start to put dimensions into CAD?

Accurate drawings would help the process.

Been looking at 3D scanning but its not as easy as I had hoped for a whole car.

Here is an example page showing the A9X diff. A lot of the drawings are reproduced in the repair manuals and parts books.

I am designing a complete new chassis,suspension,driveline so am looking mostly at internal/external body drawings that I can load in shell measurements. Its all about dimensions positioning weight etc

Wooohhhh, some serious work there. Nice. Can you 3D print me a Torana?

Tell your mechanic to harden up. The K-frames take a bit of convincing to go in at the best of times, everything has to be just right.

Not something that happens quickly because getting everything you want in the design leads to a lot of swearing. It will happen but after a year of setbacks the project can't go any slower. LOL

As I mentioned to you more than 12mths ago in the mind its dead easy, its just the 2 steps forward 10 steps backward that has me frustrated. Everytime you rely on outside help they cause more trouble than help. Bitterly disappointed with 99.5% of businesses both in what they supply (quality, time, backup, response etc) and broken promises. It leaves me with a very sour taste, but I have come to the conclusion that if you want it done and done properly DIY. Threw a floorpan from a local supplier in the other day and nearly threw up. Its not even an artists impression ..... its poor scrap metal at best. I mean seriously why fix something if your replacing it with a pos that is just not right. I would pay triple for correct parts. Projects are ruined by putting that crud in your restoration.

Still stuck on the first quick build but somehow that has transformed into a full bare metal rebuild (because it has struck metal cancer). Still semi talking to Morrisons to try to ease the time/work burden, but everything seems to lead me to dead ends. Its all about time and manpower but at the end of the day I might have to do it all in house to achieve what I want.

Not to mention I hate this cold bloody weather.

Can you 3D print me a Torana?

I wish. That's not me who has drew the hatch.

Numbers, Car building ... Yes :driving:

Physically Drawing NFI ..... even stick figures ... fat chance - useless. :banghead: LOL

If you do end up getting anything designed over here, I know a car that could be a test bed before you bother shipping the bits over there

It is beer weather out today here for sure...kinda warm out (got the a/c on actually) but take that over cold for sure !

Hi Guys

New to the forum and I know I am digging up an old thread but I am looking for a dimensional drawing of the LH-UC chassis, including the front crossmember one similar to this one for FE/FC Holdens.

In particular one that shows the front crossmember mounting point locations relative to the wheel centres.
