Hi guys,

I had a chat to Tiny tonight about doing the photos for the WSID track day you have planned.

For a cost of $25.00 per car, (one or two drivers) I can provide the following..

Two (hopefully three) photographers using top quality gear for the full day to capture the whole days event.
Each car will get an individual CD-Rom of all the images of that car in the Original Hi-Resolution jpeg format
I'll set up a web galley of all the images of those that buy the package - in decent resolution - for everyone to see with only a small GMH-Torana Forum Watermark
(if you don't want your plates shown, I suggest you remove them or cover with tape etc)

Depending on how many runs you do, chances are this will mean you will get at least 10-20 images of your car that you can print and use as you please.

To make this viable, we need to have at least 40 people agree to the photo packages.
Whilst I am sure you would love us to come and do it for free, unfortunately we run this as a business and this is how we earn a living.
If you want us to stand out there all day shooting in the sun/wind/cold etc, then we expect to get paid, and once all our costs and expenses are covered, it's not like we will be raking in squillions.

If we get at least 40 people agree to the package, as an added bonus, we will provide three (3) 20'x30' poster prints to the Admin/Management of the forums for them to award as prizes
(the prizes could be a lucky door prize, best Reaction time, best burnout etc - it's up to them, they decide who wins, and the winner gets to chose which image they want done)

Tiny will be arranging the collection of the $$ and let me know by the cut off point if we are to attend and what cars we are to shoot.
Unfortumately we will only concentrate on those that take up the package to ensure they get the best value for $$$

For the 'photo-nerds, the gear we will be using...
Bodies - Canon 1DMk3, Canon 50D, Canon 40D
Lenses - 16-35L f2.8, 17-40L f4, 70-200 f2.8, 300 f2.8, 400 f2.8 as well as 1.4x and 2.0x convertors

I will post some samples of what I have shot previously (using lots older and cheaper equipment).

Too anyone going, this would be the best $25 you ever spend on your car! You'll get some awesome photos that you'd never be able to get from your own camera!

There is nothing better than having a big arse picture of your car doing a skid hanging from your wall!!!

Too right matty!

I know i'll be buying a CD!

I mostly buy one or two pictures from Badger Photography on the street meet nights, and on the occasion i paid extra to use one of the images watermark and royalty free, i paid almost as much for the one image as this whole CD! ( and i STILL reckon it was great value!)

For anyone racing, I'm sure you will love the photos of your car in action, and for just $25 you can have them printed in any way you like! Cant go wrong :)

For those who are interested, Please again PM me and let me know when you have paid ( and for who... just so i allocate the photo package to the right car!!) and payment can be made to the same account as the drag day monies.

Thanks again to Southo for making this great offer!!

Cheers!

Hi Wayne,

Tracey is as always most welcome to take photos for everyone as well! That will always be the case!

As Jason is a very good friend on mine, I had organised a photoshoot of my car with Jason on the day, and Jason extended his offer to me, to the other racers as well by means of the offer above.
During my discussions with Jason, he recommended that we actually have 2 photographers on the track, to ensure that all the people that want to have their photos taken get full coverage (Both lanes for all the runs) as well as pit photos during the day.

This meant that he had to call in his other photographer, who requires payment for the day, and has to cover the cost of posting out a CD to each entrant who buys the photos needs to be covered.

That is the only reason there is a cost involved at all. We are asking a professional photographer to give up his day, bring their (very bloody expensive!) equipment, and take photos for us all to enjoy.

I've attached some drag photos jason took back in 2004 for you to see (He had trouble attaching them in the post above!)

Thanks for puting them up Tiny.
They were taken with my first DSLR - Canon D60

I will try and get some newer ones up showing some later work.

I had a 1TB Hard drive crash about 6mths ago and lost a truck load of images - most are backed up amongst other drives, I just have to go searching for them...

I now have a 4TB Raid Array and two 1 TB back up drives so I don't have the same problem again :(

No Worries Jase!

I've seen your work first hand, and if it's ok, I'll upload an image of the poster shots you did for me of our wedding cars so everyone can get an idea of the poster shots we'll get IF we get the uptake for photos!

Please note guys!

PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ON THE DAY.

We need to know well in advance so that we can book the photographers for the day otherwise they will have to take on other work!

Yep,

The other photographer I will book needs at least 3 weeks notice as he needs to arrange someone else to cover his usual weekend job.
If we get to the cut of date (June 14th) and the paid numbers are not there, then I will not be booking him and it will just be me.
I will only be concentrating on Tiny's car as I promised him I would come out, so I can not guarantee any others, so those that have deposited $$ to Tiny will be refunded in full.

Sorry, but I don't want to have to wear the cost of the extra photographer, nor the extra responsibility or complaints because I can't cover both lanes.

Thanks Guys!

I know this was added after the initial pricing was done, but i thought that you would all appreciate some good quality pictures of your cars throughout the day!

I'm happy to take individual payments of the $25 for those who have already paid the $200 fee.

And Just to clarify, it will be PER CAR - Not per Driver! (So if youve got a secondary driver, it's still just $25)!

Cheers and thanks for the understanding!!

Awesome Mate!

I really hope some more of the other racers see this and get on board too!

$25 is pittance to pay for 2 professional photographers to be there to shoot as many photos as possible AND to get a copy on CD!

Cheers mate!

I agree.
Maybe we should shoot another copy of the offer onto the main "Private Day " thread as much has happened since you first mentioned it. I must admit, I forgot all about it.

Cheers
