What is the difference between the G-Pack and the SL/R 3300?

Anyone remember the Plus-4 which was from memory a similiar concept with the dreaded four cylinder boat anchor on board.

The SLR 3300 had a much greater degree of luxury. The G Pak was a options package aimed at increasing sales to young buyers. There was a handfull of options thrown in for a little extra and of course the paint styling.

Yep thats next! I think because of that opel motor it will be increasingly hard to find an original one.

GPaks are cool, I'd pay for one. There was one for sale recently in NZ with General Lee style wheels and this funny front spoiler. If you want some pics i'll find them.

Dad had a GPACK from when it was around 6 months old and sold it in the early to mid 80's for a (dare I say it) FORD, damn it. Here are a couple of pics.

Even rarer are the 4 cylinder overhead cam LC's and LJ's. See them on the old ads but never spotted one in real life.

All outakes from the ads:-
One Torana, Two Torana, Three Torana, Four...
The New Torana 1600 Overhead Cam....They're Really Groovy!!!
Hey Little Big Wheels!!!!

Okay now we've seen a red one. I think we've all seen BBBBAD but I'll post that anyway, and I'll get this other NZ green one.

Maybe they called them that but they weren't a bad buy for the times. (The G-Pak anyway)

That Green G-Pac is still for sale here in NZ. It is in pretty good condition, but he wants $7000 for it. I'd rather buy a GTR for that money.

Hey RED,

What sort of shonky biz were you up to back then?
Those number plates change in just about every shot. :P

One of our club members brought in 2 full page newspaper ads for the G-Pack recently.
Guys were climbing over each other to have a look.
You had to laugh at the spin doctoring in the sales pitch.

I remember seeing a yellow G-Pak with different wheels and steering wheel when I lived in Port Macquarie. A few other things were different and the engine needed work but it wasn't too bad. It was a 4-speed. No pics sadly.

My father had a red LH g-pak. He got it brand new. It was an early one so it didn't have radial tyres. Best car he ever had he says the only thing was the rattly front brake calipers that was fixed by holden

I remember a 4 plus that had a twin exhaust system and chevy drop pipes after the back wheels. The type that poke out at an angle like a pontiac firebird (Smoky and the bandit car).

It was the worst sound I ever heard, I would go as far as saying a victor lawn mower sounded better.

THe first ones that come out didn't have radials. When my father went to the holden dealer there was 3 to choose from 1 of each of the colours red, green, and yellow. he got the red one. All 3 had rag tyres on them, but a month after got his there was 2 there with radials on
