So here is my plan,
I have got manifolds and can modify a set of extractors that I have to run 2 su's on a starfire, then I can basically build it up with the same specs as a hot red 6 and have some fun! I have even got the ideal car to slot it into, a 2 door morry minor that we have sitting in a "shed", I would like to paint it up like an old FJ racecar or even Brockys FX from Goodwood.
so, anyone in Vic got a spare starfire or 3?

maybe knife edged crank?
toughen up the bottom end and find some good tough rods
for slugs i dont know a thing about the starfires other than the missfires but hey maybe slot in some 186 slugs or something (something to cube her up if possible
customised sump
home made manifold job with twin side draught webbers (or maybe just one???)
if your going n/a path definately bump the compression right up ( as the commos are only at 8.7:1 )
port the head (do it yourself play around with some ideas and read up in some of the american books )
valve wise youd have to know a fair bit about the 4s which i do not but my geuss is just maybe upsize them (if it wont make it a slug)
whack in at least a medium cam
maybe roller rockers for that extra bit of lift
it would be a bit of a challenge i could imangine though as alot of people are smart enough to steer away from fours in the first place

FastEH, I dont really want people to donate money ect, but thanks for the offer. I might take you up on the offer of that 2/3 YT head though!
Chevy, a starfire is basically a 173 with 2 cylinders lopped off the end, i have plenty of ideas, i already have the manifold and carbs to run twin SU's or Strommies.
@milco@, you have a PM

Maybe you can do it in your all time least favourite Torana. a UC Sunbird.

personally id whack it in a 4cyl torana something you never see around these days
And you see shitloads of Morris Minors fanging around these days, I spose...
Sounds like a bloody good plan to me, Makka. Good luck!

I think from memory the inlet ports are the same as blue/black if your thinking of using red stuff.I already have the manifold and carbs to run twin SU's or Strommies.
