By the way, is there any rubber grommet or anything that the pin goes through when it goes through the firewall?

Nothing really that close at all for that application.
Let me know if you get onto something suitable.

Looks like a bowler hat with a hole in the middle

that one doesn't block the hole in the firewall though when used with these LX setups, it blocks the one where the M/C bolts to the angled looking bracket they give you - leaving a big hole for the cockroaches to run in and out under your dash.
You need some sort of rubber boot which is angled at 45 degrees (the ones on the 300ZX rear handbrake cable are the closest I have ever come across) but the mounting stud and the pushrod on the firewall is too close to the edge of the hole to be able to have a grommet go through the sheetmetal.

ensure you top up the fluid enough though as it runs low even when its working due to the angle of the resivour.....
also you need to make sure the play between the fork and the slave cylinder shaft is right ... i usually set mine so you have 1-2mm play between the fork and the shaft when you wiggle the fork towards the front and back of the car ...

All works fine to drive around but if I'm hitting the pedal a few times in a row, for instance when reversing slowly into a tight spot (V8 so I can't just let the pedal go all the way out) or pulling out from a driveway slowly the pedal movement becomes a lot shorter and I have to take it out of gear and give it a full pump with my foot.
As you can imagine when the pedal movement is short and near the firewall end the gearstick is hard to get out of gear as the clutch isn't fully disengaged.
What could be happening here?
Is it just a matter of bleeding it to fix it?

I swapped over to a commodore type cable clutch and bellhousing and it took about one hour to set up and has so much more feel than the hydraulic ever did. So smooth and easy to push.
Go the cable, i am converted for good now!!!!
