Does the (below) Brock "Bill Paterson Racing No 25" white, blue and yellow 77 Car still exist? or is it now painted in another paint scheme?

Thanks Red... gee that was fast... I was thinking of you replying to this when I typed it.
I was just curious thats all ... so the car and paint scheme still exist... I thought maybe it might have been updated and painted to another team colour maybe... being a 77 car... with Brock going back to HDT...
well there ya go.
Thanks

Now that would be a good replica...

That is one of my favourite all time Bathurst/Brock cars, just looks great with the Brock Brock windscreen banner. I have it as my desktop wall paper and the Biante model above my PC in teh study..

Nope, Tony's car was not the Brock car, it was Marshall Brewers car painted up in the Patterson colours (Marshals car was plain white with red flairs and looked boring) because Tony got some information saying the car was originnally one of the Patterson spares, I was told it was HDT. Marshall Brewer missed out on getting one originally and went down to the factory jumping up and down, so a spare was sourced from another team. As for the patterson cars, a guy contacted me a few years ago and he had just bought a car but wasn't sure what he had, after a few pictures and things, turned out he had the spare Patterson hatch, never raced, but kept as a spare. The car they raced is still around I'm told, and yes I was told Canberra as well. I have a pretty good idea who owns it, he has owned a couple of other ex race cars.

Have you ever spoken with Marshall Brewer?

Tony's car spent many years in Whyalla with a guy called John.
John club raced it in the 80s and he spoke of a similar story to yours above.

From my memory it was this way.

Marshall wanted a car at the same time Peter Brock returned to HDT from Pattersons. The Patterson's car destined for Peter was the car marshall got! So as I said similar to your story but best to ask Marshall Brewer.

What Patterson's hatches raced? We all know about #25 but I am sure I have seen old pictures of #5 as well.

I've never spoken to marshall Brewer, i spoke to Mike Prowse about it. All I can say is this. Brewer walked into Mikes office apparently jumping up and down and going on like a lunatic about not getting a car. Mike Prowse said he called someone (I think Bruce Nowacki's name came up as he owned a warehouse at the time) at a warehouse and said he was sending Bruce and his mechanic down and to give them a car. As far as I know, Bill patterson only ever raced the one hatch. Brock used it at sandown and bathurst in 77 and a few other rounds. When Peter left at the start of 78, Phill took over and the car was raced by him for a few rounds and later sold to Joe Moore? who owned the St Georges tavern and raced under that banner by Fred Gibson. Pattersons had at least one other spare, I have seen pictures of the car, but it was never raced or race prepared. It's quite posible the shell was taken from the patterson team, who knows, that would mean at one stage they had at least 3 hatches if that was the case.

Would be quite interested to see it if you can dig it up.

What Patterson's hatches raced? We all know about #25 but I am sure I have seen old pictures of #5 as well.

From the information i have found it looks like they only raced one hatch although i have seen it with three different numbers on it

These first two are of the car at Bathurst in 1977 which would have been its second race after the Hang Ten at Sandown. I put these two pictures in as i've always been curious about why the HF1000 sticker moved from the guard to the door?? May have just been put on in the wrong place but am pretty sure the 4 doors ran with it at the front so cannot figure it out, any ideas??

Not sure where this one is taken but obviously ran as the 05 at some stage. Think i have a picture of it at the island and Morwell hill climb wit 05 on it.

Interestingly raises another question, P Brock ran with the 05 number on the L34 then appeared to change to 25 for maybe two races and then back to 05 again. Just checked a copy of the original Bathurst manual and its got John Goss with cars 4 & 5 so maybe BPR couldnt run these numbers?? (It's good when you answer your own questions isn't it)

This is of the car back at sandown i assume early 1978 with Phil driving it.
