from wikipedia;

In May 2006 Australian Muscle Car magazine ran a story on the Chamberlain's 1977 Holden Torana hatchback they had at the time of the 1980 Azaria killing. Apparently it is currently under restoration by a Chamberlain family member and will reportedly, due to the Chamberlain issue, be worth a lot of money.

anybody got fresh info?

ive told this story before on this forum but its a goody
going back about 10 years ago when i had the wreakers
a bloke rang up wanting a 13'' hot wire, hit a pot hole or something
when he came in it was micheal chamberlin driving his yellow
hatchback. the rego number was 4ENZIC it was good to see it looked
in good condition then and that was 10 years ago.
anybody else seen it around

They also had a hatch on the Azaria mini series a couple of years ago.
Wonder if that was the same car or 1 similar?

It reads it was a V8, is that right? I thought it was a 6 banger. Micheal was a bit of a hoon maybe.

My wife saw it at a car show at Cooranbong NSW last year. It is only a 6cyl and has been fully restored by him. He had newspaper clippings on how the car was kept in NT for forensic testing. The number plate is 4ENSIC I think. It is in good nick.

just to add some more info to this....i started my business in newcastle 14 years ago and it was in the first couple of years of business that i came across the hatch being restored in a panelshop at cooranbong..as graham said he sold him a wheel about 10 years ago and ive sold him bits and pieces since then,so its been on the road again for around 10 years plus, may have been getting a freshen up recently as it looks good...

Interesting stuff on the Hatch.

I've got the cartoon joke book called "Dingo Lingo".

Brilliant or Macabre depends if you like that stuff or not,

If you want to get in contact with michael chamberlain, i by sheer coincidence just found out he is teaching at my old high school-

GOSFORD HIGH

i was looking at some things put up by students (stupid shit) and thought id see what was said about the school. kinda freaked me out as i had only read this thread thismorning.

i still visit the school everynow and then for a cuppa with some teachers. so the option is there.

Notable among the current staff are Dr. Mark Butler, recipient of the Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools in 2004[1], and Michael Chamberlain (ex-husband of Lindy Chamberlain)

wow. im a little creeped out now.

thanks for the offer. if you are at the school one day and happen to see him, maybe you could ask if he is going?

Don't go too far out of your way though.. Seeing how I have not had any returned mail or phone call, I assume that me might not be interested in coming, which will be a shame..

cheers
Mick

Ive seen the 4ensic hatch around as well, maybe only once or twice.. Fixed my transmission slipping, just some fluid.. getting all geed up for sunday of course.

Cheers.
