In was out looking at mine today, scratching my nuts, farting, drinkin beer etc............
I doesn't need to be that exact shape. In fact, it would drain that area better if it was a different shape.................just sayin?

Yep get what your saying, Guard goes over the end of the sill anyways so its not visible without looking inside the guard, however the step in the sill that the rear of the front guard lines up to needs to be present, unless I'm just going to fill it in. Have managed to track down one of the Aussie Muscle car parts sill, which will save me a lot of other work on the sill.

Thanks mate, I'd like to think so, but I haven't started with the passenger side yet at all. Nothing like a bit of friendly competition to get some cars finished. :)

I'm still here, but progress has been slow, with having to prepare a room, furniture etc for a baby as I will becoming a father in late July or early August :)

My attempts at forming the bottom of the A pilar were not successful, so i forked out the Aussie Muscle car parts rocker panel. It fits great! I purchased the LHS rocker as well.

I have been working on the front of the drivers rear wheel arch.

Been a long time since I've been on here. Wife has given me the ultimatum, Finish the car or get rid of it before we have #2, so I have about 12 - 18 months to get the car finished.

Progress over the last few months.

A Pillar and rocker panel finished, joined, painted on the inside and installed.

Is that better than a grinder with a flap disc? 🤔

No, but it will get into those welds on your front guard. Can't beat a flap wheel for flat work.

This weeks progress:

Made up, welded in and ground down the patch for the last piece of the front of the drivers guard.

IMG_20190314_201435_zpsblrdwkjl.jpg

Still not 100% happy with the shape here, but with the otherside of the car hard against the wall, its a bit hard to get a good template of the other untouched side. Will do it next time I move the car.

A job I didn't want to tackle, remove the guttering to fix the rust underneath. Have removed nearly all of it, just need to borrow a torch to melt the lead wipping at the top end.

IMG_20190316_205553_zpsrwbkomnr.jpg

Since my car isn't a GTR but it will be a tribute version I needed to drill holes for the GTR badges. First set of holes I drilled was wrong so I drilled two more. Welded up the wrong ones.

I found a can of heavy duty epoxy primer and have started spraying it over parts of the car I have bare metalled to provide some protection untill it is time to do the whole paint job. I clamped the front guard on and put the GTR badge in just to give myself some more inspiration.

Progress ground to a halt unforuntely, due to rolling my ankle at work and being on light duties for a few weeks. Then we've been away for a week. Anyways little more progress on the Guttering. Couldn't melt the lead off so ended up using the grinder.

Have repaired most of the gutter in the last week, just need to deal with the top then it will be panel bonded and tack welded back on.

Hanging to get this finished so I can complete the bottom of the rear guard and start on the boot.

I don't really get time to get on here very much anymore, doesn't mean there has not been progress!

Spare wheel well, modified and finished. Drivers rear wheel arch repair is done. Drivers rear guard is done. Working on drivers door, next will be beaver then time to turn the car around and start on the passenger side.
