Hi from having a quick read through some posts I am led to believe that LX toranas used footbrakes only? Not sure if thats right - but if they did what happens with the manuals needing a clutch?

Is it a simple change to convert to handbrake i've just bought one, am just curious im not doing conversion myself

you can do a conversion of the UC handbrake into a LH/X if you want to, you will need to cut some tunnel out though and weld in the UC tunnel and handbrake assembly. a cable change will need to be done aswell.

the tunnel section is only about a foot or so long so not a big drama

Gotta love that! "A relatively easy conversion that can be performed in one day" Hah!

just to confuse everyone i have in the shed a manual 4/78 (very low numbered chassis number iirc) UC 6 cyl "TORANA" not sunbird with a foot style park brake...and a ratrap style clutch....so its got an LX front floorpan i spose...but not rear as upper rear control arms are in the UC config
