Thought I'd just put it out there and see if anybody knows where you can buy these suckers? Not for road use, well not unless it is enroute to a CAMS affiliated event!!!

Just some more info, I'm talking bout the ones that exit out the side of the cars, under the back doors.

Mmm, OK. If worse comes to worse, I'll fabricate some with a mate of mine. Bit of stainless perf and plain sheet, some glass fibre and we'll be off.

LX8VD69 you gonna put some stainless steel sheet over the paint to stop it blistering the paint?

Nah, there will be one each side, with an X-pipe under the car.

Actually, thinking ahead. Not really sure how I'm gonna configure it yet, but above is the ideal situation.

Years ago when i owned my Group C A9X it had an original megaphone type exhaust. Dangerous spent a lot of time taking measurements and photos before getting someone to make a few up for him. This was over ten years ago but I am sure he will be able to send you somewhere to get one (or 2).

The original megaphone is still doing duty on the car today !!!

Hope this helps.

Thanks for those. Old resonating chamber principle. I should be able to work with that, thanks. One I saw had a slightly different outlet, but between that and my Biante models, I should be able to come up with something.

Oh, previous question, what size pipes? Dunno yet, will have to work that out so they are tuned to the engine.

The ones that Ross makes, have the end turned down slightly which I think is to send the noise to the road, some tracks have noise level equipment. The red/white Roadways hatch has one on it, they were around $500. They have 3inch inlet and the centre flairs from 3inch out to the oval shape in perforated sheet to the outlet. The inside is packed with stainless wool, which is expensive, these will last for ages, the old style ones use ordinary wool and burn out quicker. Once you have had a look at one of these megaphones, the work that goes into them, its not worth the effort trying to make your own, and they sound awsome.

Digging up an old thread here, hoping that someone has recent contact info for group c style megaphones? Ross who was making them previously has apparently left Exhaust Fix - anyone know where he works now or of anyone else making them? thanks
