I'm wondering here, the question says LX. Plus 4 was an LH. The only thing I can think of in the LX range that had no console was bench seat models, or race shells. As for painted bumpers besides SS, you could option it on the SLR5000, and race cars usually had painted bumbers, but they left the factory with chrome ones.

I thought the same thing RED, but I dont know much about the plus 4's so I thought that they may have run through both models.
by the look of the pics it has a few LX type things such as the black door handles and "Torana" sticker

Plus 4 was LH for sure. There may have been some run into the LX range, but not to my knowledge. I rember seeing a few around when they were reasonably new and a mate of mine had one he put a 6 cylinder into, but I haven't seen one in a long time.

Hi Guys.

The Plus 4 was released in Aug/Sept 1975 as an LH, so the Wheels magazine tested it well after its release date.

They weren't much to get excited about with the 1900 Opel motor in them, but they were first with many items.

Black wipers, door handles & bumpers, Torana nose decal, sports mirrors to name a few.

On an aside matter, notice the Sandman ute in the scans? It's a Kingswood - see the stainless strip between the door glass and the Sandman decal? When I first started researching Sandmans this was the first evidence I had of HJ Kingswood Sandmans until I got an early HJ parts catalogue. From my ID collecting HJ Kingswood Sandman utes appear to be more common today than the base model examples in 1975 model year.

i saw a set of SLR style hubcaps on ebay about a month ago, but they were yellow....
seller was saying they have been painted, but they were obviously plus 4 hubcaps now i think about it.

Mate

I reckon they'd be rarer than an unmolested L34 or A9X...

cheers

Hi Guys.

Getting back to the original question. "what other LX model came with no console just like a L34 ??"

Obviously cars with bench seats had no console because they had a column shift, but what other LX had a floor shift but no console (like an L34) ?

The only one is a 1900 S manual. To my knowledge, they had front bucket seats & no console around the shifter, just like an L34.

The only LH SL Toranas with no centre console were column shift models (3-speed manual or Tri-Matic).
