I've never seen such a thing. What sender have you got?

You may be able to drill and tap the top of something like this but you would probably be better of buying a different sender.

I wouldn't put a temp sender in the t/stat housing. You really want to know what the temp is BELOW the t/stat.

Thanks Struggler and ls2lxhatch,

I Agree you want to know the temp below the thermostat, but i've got a mechanical guage in the manifold on the crossover, and my damn heads dont have the right size hole for a sender ( Not to mention i need a different square drive to get the plug out!

Ahh well, I'll work something out!

Cheers!

Can you buy a brass bung to suit the hole in the head and then tap the bung to suit the sender?

I'm going to have a look at my options tomorrow actually.

My mechanical guage has a step down fitting to make it fit into the manifold, so i'm thinking about trying to find a Tee Piece to run teh guage AND the sender from there. Dont know if that is possible or even where to look for one, but it's something i can even do later!

I've left a wire under eh dash wound up which will already be hooked to the warning light as another earth ready to go when i get this sorted :)

Cheers!

Hi Tiny,

I'm a little confused about the set up you have. Let's see if I've got it right!

So you have...

Mechanical Temperature Gauge
Thermo Fan Switch
Temperature Warning Switch

and you also want to install a Temperature Sender (I'm assuming this is for the original temp gauge?)

Is this correct?

Gday Antelope,

I Currently have:

Autometer Mechanical Temp Guage in the top of the inlet Manifold.
Sender ( on-off type) in the top Radiator tank to trigger the termo fans

I Want to install a Temperature Warning Switch so that i can trigger the warning buzzer and Idiot light so that we're not lulled into a false sense of security now that the fans SHOULD take care of themselves!

Cheers mate! - Take a look in the electrical section i've got a doozy of a situation i found myself in and i'd like your input to see if my theory is correct!

Cheers :spoton:

Hi Tiny, there are a few options on the Summit Racing website, from cheap cast water necks to billet. I have added a LINK under each picture.

You're worth your weight in gold frank!

I Think i might look at getting the bling one! that would do me exactly what i need!

I can continue to finish off teh car because i prepared a wire for this sender for when i got it! So even if i dont get it right now, it's all realy to go!

Thanks mate :)
