I would have thought a monentary switch to the starter soleniod would do it.

I you "need" to move the car like this, just make sure you have the IGN key/barrel in a position so the steering lock can NOT engage !

Oh yeah thats important too. Actually, what is VERY important is that the car is not in gear.

Yeah, the ignition on my old Lj played up one time and I had a switch wired up under the bonnet. Take it outta gear first!!

I dont quiet understand the question mate, can you be more clear?
If your chasing a wiring diagram, buy a workshop manual. Preferably a genuine GMH one, they pop up from time to time for reasonable coin, or if you cant get one of them an ellory's/gregory's. The GMH one is 100 times better though.

Look its easy to do, and has been covered above.
Simplest version is to run a wire from the positive battery terminal to the positive side of the coil.
Then just ark out the starter motor between the positive nut on the solenoid and the little spade terminal just above it with a screwdriver..
Cheers.

No. theres a million and six ways it can be done. Thats just the simplest.
What exactly are you trying to achieve? Temporarily start it to see if it runs, or actually fix the issue, or something in between?

THat color pick is probably the most help you will get.
If you want to make it a bit more permament you can put a toggle switch in the line going to the coil, this will become your ign on and off, and you can just run a wire from the positive battery terminal to the spade terminal on the starter solenoid, again with a toggle switch in line somewhere, this is your starter switch, flick it on to crank, off to stop cranking.

take steering wheel off.get flat screwdriver and hit in the slit that holds the ignition barrel in and take it to a lock smith...or just get a new on.
only takes about 10secs to knock out.should be able to kick her in the guts then
