Paul I had enjoyed reading your thread and thought it was a top build until I read the last post LOL.

Well done so far even though I would rather the white replaced by yellow!!

I still have a bit too do before I "have" to have the tank finished so if it takes a few weeks, so be it.

Hi All, Thought I should do a bit of an up date, last one was around March 2010.
I havent done a hell of a lot due to the motivation slump that we go through. Every time I went to work on the car I discovered something that I didn't like about the finish of the paint/body work, but Im over that now and want this finished so I can enjoy it. I need to cruise..... :buttrock:

Any way I got it home and started to do a couple of things
Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image
Did the Dynamat thing :buttrock:
Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image
Put the 9 inch in.
Posted Image

Posted Image
Installed the hood lining and door trims.
Posted Image

Posted Image
I did the A & C pillars in slate vinyl, looks better than the photos.
Posted Image

Posted Image
Still working on the tank.
Posted Image

Posted Image
Re-ran the washer hoses, bit tidier
Posted Image
Hid the wires in the engine bay

More to come.

I had a visit from Ando & his Hatch the other day, it was great to see his hatch and have a chat.

Good call, you'll be a lot happier with a not-quite-perfect but finished car than a perfect one in a million pieces! Great progress already!

Thanks 76lxhatch, exactly :3gears:

Thanks Tim, might have to bring it up to your place for a bit of finishing off work (body/paint) before you get too busy.

I recon your hatch is going to come up a treat Tony, with that chamois interior, I'll keep my eye on that one.

Thanks Gerry & Mick, there was a lot of "do I, dont I" going on with the little changes, but in the end I said F#@K IT we all need to have our little differences. I'm keen to put the interior in, so I might start on that.

Cheers, guys & thanks for the kind words.

Hi Paul,
It was great to meet you, your son & your fantastic car! You have the perfect car because you are building it the way you want it & that accounts for everything!
I think your choices with finishing detail is spot on & whatever minor imperfections you see can be overcome & fixed. What you have done so far has inspired me to build a better car.
If I can help with anything, just call me. I hope to see you cruising soon.

Great looking hatch, they are the sexest holden ever built

All the little differences you have added make it even more special to you and makes it a one off.

Keep up the good work nearly there.

When you mash the right pedal and she puts you back into the seat it will be worth all the effort.

Top job and thanks for sharing your build with us all

Thanks for the words of encouragement Doc & UC, it certainly makes you want to finish it faster :)

Ando, much appreciated, but you have inspired me to build my car.

I sound like I was going to throw the towel in, no chance, but I was a bit flat and in a bit of a slump, all good now.

I shall be ordering the tail shaft tomorrow; do you think there is any advantage getting a 3.5 inch tail shaft over a 3 inch one?

Cheers.
