Part numbers would be good but looking at the pic I think they are, because if you draw a straight line through the mounting holes the part where the tie rod end attaches isn't close to parallel and drops down a fair way. But don't take my word for it!

Find a std LH/X one and compare. If they are UC I will have both lots Dennis...I am experimenting with a 10 tonne press to make A9X ones.

The UC steering arm part numbers are LH 9928329(GM8329) & RH 9928328(GM8328).

The LX steering arm part numbers are LH 9947249(GM7249) & RH 9947248(GM7248).

rory

it looks like the a9x are actually longer than the uc in that pic. could you maybe trace around the 2 (or 3) of them, keeping the mounting holes in the same spot, so we can get a better idea of what is happening.

what will your mod achieve? is it clearance for calliper or improvement in bump steer?

Brett...not mine...stole the pic off Dangerous...Its a bumpsteer thing but M@ says the difference between A9X and UC is minuscule.

Comparison of UC and A9X one mounted on the A9X stub axle. Pretty close - definitely better than using an LX one.

From M@s thread.

I have just done the Std A9X bumpsteer and it is the best of the standard Torana setups - only just slightly better than the UC bumpsteer but bugger all in it.

YES SORRY I got them switched around reading the superseeded numbers the wrong way round in the UC catalogue :fool: .

CORRECT INFORMATION is:

The UC steering arm part numbers are LH 9947249(GM7249) & RH 9947248(GM7248).

The LX steering arm part numbers are LH 9928329(GM8329) & RH 9928328(GM8328).

My apologize to all , I blame the heat , bloddy hot in Melbourne.

Youre right Rorym . Looks like the UC arm only needs bending to to make it close to an A9x one by that picture.
