hi just wondering what lj this is number on id plate ALJ15820A chassis number the same other tag says 8d11pcl221684j hard to read think that is it cheers

Sounds like an XU-1 to me. D=GTR. P=XU-1 202. Shame the BODY plate is missing.

Hi

That VIN comes up as an Adelaide XU-1 completed 20 Nov '72 and sold by dealer 885 during Feb '73. The Chassis Number is consistent with a Nov '72 build.

It goes without saying that an XU-1 VIN tag doesn't make the car an XU-1.

Do you know the colour?

havnt looked at car yet but says its in primer how do i tell what colour it is may be able to look some were he hasnt primed?thanks for help

Hi

If the whole thing hasn't been media blasted, signs of the original colour, in the form of overspray, can sometimes be found under the hoodlining, under the rear parcels shelf, inside the kick panels etc.
