I do not know what grommets or boots are needed thats why I am asking this forum, if nothing is required thats fine, but if something is needed for restoration please let us know. But please think carefully as it is expensive to make parts and I would not like to make ones that do not sell.

i dont think you would lose on the handbrake rubbers les....most toranas are either missing them or they are rotten...currently i sell them at 25 each if they are good... second hand of course..

Gday Les,
Got a phone message yesterday from someone called Greg
from Rare Spares saying that the part I'd sent was in the mail.
I didnt speak to him so did he mean my old 1 was on its way
or is the new repro Washer Hose firewall gommet is on its way?
I only ask as had a call 5 or 6 weeks ago from someone else about
all these rubber samples I'd sent, I told him I'd only sent the 1 so
was a bit confusing.

Hi Les,
Got a envelope today from Greg Barker with a Washer
Hose/Firewall Grommet sample & a samples report sheet
to fill in, so all has been explained.

Will check the sample against the good 1 I have
as well as fitment of the hoses & firewall this weekend.
I'll fill in the report sheet & send it back when done.
Just looking at it tho, its pretty bloody spot on.

Cheers Jono

Hi all,
As the above post says I got the sample of the LC/J
Windscreen Washer Hose Firewall Grommet from Greg
Barker,Product Sourcing & Developement Manager, of
Rare Spares.
I checked it out for fit & appearance the other day &
all looks good, heres some pics of it.
I just gotta fill out the sample report & send it back &
it should be available shortly I spose.

Hi Glen
I saw the Washer hose grommet on Rares site recently listed under
new products comming soon. Think it was listed at $2 or $3.
Also had a Harness grommet listed, maybe the main wiring harness, no
pic or price but also available soon.
I see they also have the Exhaust/muffler hanger rubbers listed too.
Good 1 Les/Rares.

Cheers Jono

Ok, Help me out here someone.

In the grommet kit whats the ribbed boot (1) for? The Kit image is below the pics as attached file.

In my firewall pics, Whats hole (A) & © for.

Correct me if i'm wrong, Hole ( B) is choke, Hole (D) Speedo  Hole (E)  is Reverse Light Switch wiring from gearbox.

Hole (F) i think is a ringin above washerhose/wiring loom grommet hole.

Thanks

Jaso

G/day Jaso

Both items 1& 2 in the Rares grommet kit look like they are for the booster pushrod. No. 2 is the original type and I think boot No. 1 is actually for a HK,T,G brake booster pushrod, but not 100% sure.

In your pics, holes A, C & F  are not factory.

Hi Dave, thanks. I was wondering if anyone would see my post as its an old thread.

well the non factory holes get blank gromms & the ribbed boot gets the boot.

That has eased some of the confusion. I took most pics when stripping my car, but not those of whats in wot hole.

Edan,

Have the bases on your samples got the turn down or curve to suit the shape of the pressing in the transmission tunnel or are they flat?

What  about  the  grommet  for  LC  -  LJ  Toranas  where  the  reverse  light  switch  harness  passes  through  the  transmission  tunnel .

These  are  always  stuffed .

I  have  an  excellent  original  one  here  to  copy  from .

S Pack, see below a couple of pictures of the pre-production samples fitment testing. The boots have a very slight radius to them.

Not sure if this is has been mentioned or not, but is there not a rubber plug in the bottom of the wheel arch tub? I vaguely remember it from my SL, but the only car I have now does not have it so I cannot check or supply a sample.

Does anyone know where you can buy the grommet where the breather tube exits the boot floor?

Hi Grant

The pic Rare Spares has on their website doesn't show the small oval vent pipe grommet in the firewall grommet kit.

Has it been a later addition to their kit?

Cheers

Dave.

Top, third one along from left to right in the FW1010 web picture is the rear pipe grommet - 2805852. It's also in the FK1124 kit. The image on the web matched the shelf stock. Is this the one?

S pack/Dave, that particular grommet seems to have been in the FW1010 kit from the start according to the system here....

Regards,

Edan

Hi Edan

2805852 is the fuel pipe grommet. The fuel tank vent pipe grommet is smaller and is not shown in that diagram.

Will see if I can find a diagram showing it in the parts book.

Cheers

Dave.

P.S You should receive a package in the mail soon.

Edan, have a look at page 116 item No.4 in LJ parts catalogue M37127.

That is the fuel tank vent pipe grommet, unfortunately they don't show the grommet in detail.
