Not so much a project as theres not alot I really need to do with it
However I have had a few suggestions on mods

I can get an airbag kit for $1200US for it
Some 20" 100 spoke wire wheels with tyres for $2000US or less

But I think I'd just like to leave it stock for now

Old girl is a 76 sedan deville
500 cube V8 ,auto and RWD (alot of big cads are actually FWD)
Every concievable electric thing... this is the first car to have auto door locking when you engage gear to stop carjacking
Standard feature in almost every car in the US nowdays
19.5ft long and a boot that could house a large Mexican family
No rust (Arizona car) Never crashed.
1 owner non smoking granny car with low miles - apparently an almost perfect interior... cept the fuel gauge doesn't work.
Granny passed away so daughter has been trying to sell it... but its costing her $180 mth for storage so she was motorvated to move it
She listed it 3 times on ebay and the price kept going down... so I grabbed it at the lowest figure after it never got a single bid

To bring it back to OZ in January and rego here requires very minor things.... making rear indicators amber , passengers door mirror , having seatbelts checked.
Car is sitting at g/f's house in Sacramento waiting for me to arrive and drive :)
So will use it for this trip over Xmas then bring home I think

That is weird... a lot of mid 70s Toranas came with no pass. mirror. Laws different for imported cars regardless of age maybe?

Very releived to see that this is one of the RWD ones. lol I don't want to know what it's like to work in the engine bay of a 500 cube FWD caddie

Were talking about a LHD US import here not a locally produced thing
So yes 2 mirrors required as per the WA rules

http://www.dpi.wa.go...les/IB-106A.pdf

In order to satisfy these requirements it is recommended that the following work be carried
out prior to presenting the vehicle at an Examination Centre:
 Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy
Headlamps must dip to the left, or meet ECE Specifications for right hand drive
vehicles
Rear indicator lenses must be amber for vehicles manufactured after June 1973.
Prior to that date indicator lenses may be red.
All vehicles must be fitted with two flat external side mirrors, one fitted on each side.

There's no room in a 500ci front wheel drive caddy, the old boss had two of the rotten things, great to cruise in but shits to work on. they had both been converted to rhd.

Only if your Torrie is a LHD import

So no
Those rules are for imported vehicles..... sigh

Torrie is covered by relevant ADR's of the day not import laws

That is one nice ride... But where do the tug boats connect to?

Some of the old American cars are impressive.. Especially the big ones.. They are just built for Cruising... or Presidents..

Good buy Datto... Good Buy..

Bah
Thats the little one
The Fleetwood Brougham is larger and the 9 passenger limo is just under 2 feet longer
Its by no means a classic or anything... but it was too cheap to pass up and I need a car while I'm there anyway

Overcompensating... maybe
But my daily for the last 20 odd years is this or something like it....... so... did I have plenty and old age has caused shrinkage ?
