Hi, Has anyone got access to chevron (chamois)? This is the insert material in my 76 ss.
I've been put onto smsautofabrics.com and it seems that the 1975 fabric as used in the chevy camaro and vega etc is similar (according to the site photos) but has anyone sourced material from these guys?

I've got some small bits of original material in my shed. I could possibly send it to you. Unfortunately my sheds a couple hours up the coast and I won't get there for a couple of weeks. When are you going?

I couldn't find any golfball on their website either
Hence taking a sample might be a better idea

I didn't make it up to Oregon to see these people face to face
However I do have their samples of the 3 materials I gave them
The chevron for 308mate
And a sample of chamois vinyl and golfball from 1ARC
Now... the chevron is close... but its not the same
I'll send you the samples back mate when I get home
The vinyl isn't too urgent cause I think we have that avail locally anyway
The golfball on the outside looks identical (although they sent me the wrong colour)
However it doesn't have the backing on it... so would need alittle prep to be the same as the sample I have
Not a prob for a good trim guy I am sure
Pics follow with pricing
Our Aussie samples on left... yanks on right
A yard is 36 inches for you metric blokes... thats 914mm
Their material bolts are generally 54" wide for vinyl ... 1370mm
I was hoping they would have got themselves organised in time to buy some fabric and bring it back on the seat of the Caddy... but I have only a week left and no time to get it here and into the car before its loaded
I know I need to get some golfball for my SS at some stage
So we'll have to work out another way if plans are to buy some

Hi there , i have a friend who has enough NOS Chevron cloth to do one car . He also has NOS Chamois on the roll , but only the plain not the golfball .

Sorry for the late response on the fabrics. Been mooving and building, building & mooving. Panel van is well on the backburner, so are most other things.
The samples look great - nice work dattoman, i really appreciate the efforts. Pitty the chevron isn't quite there....
Mr plumcrazy - if you come up with some more chamois chevron my Royalplum ss would greatly appreciate it. Let us know if you come up with any...

I have some black and charcoal golf ball vinyl. I could get it colour matched for you and once it's done properly it will last no problems, it would have the same wear and tear values as normal vinyl. Let me know if you want some help.
