Hey guys, I want the round lights in my LH... is it just a matter of removing the square lights and getting some round ones and fitting them in like standard?

I got my car as a rolling shell so it never had lights at all, I got some of the headlight fitting kits from Rarespares and fitted those (one screw at the bottom, one on the right and the spring at the top left) and it all goes in but it seems to be off to the left and up abit???

So yea just wondering if there was anything else Im supposed to do or is the holes in my car just wrong (I think at one stage the whole front panel that the headlights connect to was replaced) so thinking maybe the re-fitted it 5mm out... but not sure cos everything else seems to fit right.

Your description appears to match the parts book. The join in the stainless ring that holds the globe in should be at the bottom. There is only one part number for the headlight trim but there does appear to be some variation in the position of the headlight hole in the trim. It may be worth trying another trim in the hole.

Yep thats exactly how I have it... the headlight bucket has "Top" pressed into it as well so I put that at the top obviously... So ya reakon its just my front end... Should I slot the holes the screws go into with a file so I can move it across?

Yeah, they don't sit perfectly in there... How much adjusting have you done to the angle of the headlight?

The spring will sometimes tension and pull the headlight in a funny way... Try maybe jiggling the spring a bit, or try putting the spring in another spot (I think there are a few locations it can sit)

Still got about an inch on each adjuster I can screw in, but from what I could tell the headlight is pointing in the right direction as is... Ill have a play with the spring this arvo

Once you get up close you'll notice that most don't fit that nicely... don't know why but it has never bothered me - don't normally look directly front-on

If you paint the headlight rim and the area behind the headlight black as in Woodsy's pic^^^ it wont be so noticeable.

Yours arnt bad at all tho, look how far its off in my pic. I fitted the passenger side light today and its perfect...

Tried swapping buckets from left to right and was the same...

I then drilled a new hole to move the adjuster over a little which did center it... but when you tightened the adjuster it fowled on the back....

Probably a dumb question have you got the plastic screw point in the bottom? if you look at heaths car
the surround is visable at the bottom with the bumper on, he has a prob 15mm gap between the panel and the bumper,
it looks like yours is nearly touching the bottom, when you put the bumper on it will cover the bottom of the surround.
are the surrounds both LX or is one HQ?

Woodsy's is slightly below the bumper too.. not sure what the surrounds are from, But I tried both surrounds on both sides and ive even tried both complete assemblys on both sides... either way it fits really well on the passenger side but not so on the drivers.

I think Woodsy's bumper bar/bumper bar irons must have been pretty bent in that photo - it shouldn't sit like that!

You can see his bumper is bent
So his mounts might be too

So too was the bumper on the car your mounts came off Clint
So maybe you need to straighten some things up too
Though sitting off to one side (the lense) is another thing

Get it all together and see how it looks .... and maybe black out the rad support

lol definitely black out the radiator support, even if you don't have that alignment problem at all

I dont want to black out the rad panel :(

"So too was the bumper on the car your mounts came off Clint" huh? you mean that hatch? I only got the brackets that were bolted to the body. I already had the actual bumper bar mounts that bolt direct to the bumper.

I knew I should have looked in here earlier.

You need to move the adjusters and springs to the opposite sides when converting LH square to LX round. The plastic lug on the bottom is long on the bottom for LH, you need to change that to a normal one for LX roundies as well. On the LH, the spring hole will be missing on the drivers side, but the indentations are there so you can work out where to drill the hole. Maybe one of the mods will care to post a link to where I posted up how to do this previously. Pretty sure it had pics as well.

Here ya go.

Don't know if there is much more info than above. Once you know that everything needs to move to the opposite side, it all falls into place.

Yeah that bumper was bent. Replaced it with a straight one not long after than photo was taken
