I have got myself a LC SL that I am going to gradually restore.
Body is rust free, original paint, 1 registered owner.
I got all the books and service history.
Interior is fantastic

Things to do:
At present it has a 179HP block in it but I am working on getting a 2600H motor that I can freshen up and stick it in.
I need to replace the seat-belts as they are not original
Find a 2600 rocker cover decal kit.
Replace the door rubbers (eventually)
Find a 2600 Fuel Cap.
Dustings of Burwood dealer decal.
Vinyl weld a small section of the dash pad.

So any help or advise on the above would be great.
And anyone able to help with the stuff I am after would also be great.

Lakeside is a very rare colour. They delete the colour in 7 0r 8/1970 due it been unpopular at the time. They painted 6 lc gtr's lakeside, 4 blk trim and 2 sandelwood trim. No XU1's at all in this colour. There are only 13 or 14 monaro in the colour as well.

I'm about 99% sure i'm painting lc 2dr the same colour.

The colour has grown on me, and I quite like it now.
And that explains why I haven't seen many in this colour over the years.

I picked up a 2600H motor yesterday, thank you Limo.
Pulled it down today, looks good inside, .40 over size boars and they look good.
I think I will get the block hot tanked, then a hoan, set of rings and bearings and a new cam.

Cant do the head myself, so I need to send that off to get a once over and make sure it's OK.

Spent the weekend cleaning and painting the engine parts.
Motor is getting hot tanked and a new set of cam bearings.
Forgot how much fun cleaning ring grooves was.....NOT!
4 pistons done then the blisters on my thumbs said that's enough.

I know, I was feeling very soft...

Block is back from being hot tanked and looking good.
Hoping to get the pistons and rings in this weekend, and give it a coat of paint.

Started pulling the old 179 out and getting ready for the 2600H
Found a broken piston and a cracked ring in the 179, I cant believe that the motor ran so well, didnt even have a miss.
Gave the inner gaurds a coat of black to freshen things up a little.
Here are the before and after shots.

Don't quite a bit since my last post.
Did all the suspension, new peddlers springs and shockers.
Replaced all the bushes
Replaces all the ball joints and tie rod ends
Reced steering rack
New tires
Sandblasted the trailing arms and wishbones and painted them

Picked up some original Nasco parts.
Since this photo I have sandblasted the louver and re painted it.
The paint shop colour matched the original colour and it has come up a treat.

Put the nasco shelf in using the placement in the accessories catalogue.
Then I got my hands on the genuine fitting instructions and found out this was the wrong position so I moved it.
Thank you Daryl for getting those to me.

WOW Anthony!!! You have a very sweet ride there my friend!!! The rear louver, front sun shade, white walls and all the attention to detail in keeping it original... just great mate!!!

You are doing a great job at it mate!! So the motor is all done? Was your engine bay black? Mine is a blue/black and is in good condition so I wasn't game to stuff it up!!!

The fresh paint is going to be sweet!!! A very rare color mate!!!

Keep up the great work and I will be watching...

Good news was she has no rust at all. Never been in an accident and no body repairs.
Luck find I say

Well Gary is painted and the crhome is being fitted. I have photos but can't upload them from my iPad so will stick them up later.
It is looking superb, a little shiny but superb
