you will get soo many hassles when you go to rego it
and it's not needed
you only need a 10" rim at the most

Unless you gonna have some 9sec serious power i suggest you dont waste your time and money.
Do your homework man, you'll be suprised just how much u can stuff under slightly modded stock gaurds.
heres an old pic of my hatch runs 265/50/15 with ease.
new lot of treads im gonna squeeze 285's under there just because i can.
just think the coin u waste on tub work is coin towards more parts.
cheers

anything bigger than a 245 in a standard tub,and your car will sit like a tractor,265's fit if you wanna raise the height and make it look like a charger out of the 80's
doing the actual tub work is pretty cheap, but its the rest of the stuff that goes with it. a $2000 tub job quickly turns into a 10k arse end.
28x11.5 or a 325 drag radial:
this is my blue car,275/60/15 (try this without tubs )

With stockies
With normal wheels
I catch people looking under it to see if it is tubbed
Dont get me wrong i would like to tub my car but i like driving it more.

so do you modify the outside and go with flares for a wider wheel track or modify the insied for tubs with a standard or slghtly reduced wheel track. they are the only two options for 'Big' rubber and the choice depends on personal prefereence and what the car is used for.
Josh to get tubs legal in WA is a fair bit of work, make sure they approve in principal first and the engineer views every part of it while being fabricated.

both of my toranas are tubbed. flares are for ricers

i think were biased though moot as we both have no problem chopping them up!
you right about the tubs mine were only $1500 and havent touched the front half of the rail and can fit a lot more tyre than the current 28x12 mt they currently have and i cant see a 245x15x50 putting 500+ at the motor successfully to the road
its all down to personal taste i love big wheels but dont like flares so have to make them fit some how

some of the diehard torana guys would want my head on a platter if they saw what i have cut up
i'd much rather cut wheel tubs out of good clean body than hack apart the front guards, rear guards and rear doors.....

1. if its genuine, as in matching number LX SS hatch or SLR5000, dont touch it, enjoy it how it is, and
2. if its not as desirable as most others, eg 253 SL LH, make it however you desire, after all, its your car.
my 2cents worth anyway..

Are the wheelarches stretched/modified on your lc gearex?
The arches are'nt stretched, we only had to modify the dog leg to give a bit more clearence so the tyre wouldnt touch the outer guard.
