Hi all
Want to tidy up the wiring on my LH which has been taken from different harnesses and not sure what there for or where they go,I've tried working it out from the wiring diagram but some things are there and some icons I'm not sure what they are. These are the wires I'm not sure of.

First one
I have a switch on the accelerator peddle with one wire connected to the fuse box and the other is just hanging there not sure where it go I thought it would be for a kick down on a gear box or something. I have a 253 with a trimatic gear box if this helps.

Second wire

Wires for the reverse lights. What I need to know is do they go straight to the gear shift switch or do they go to gear box as well? Because on the wiring diagram it shows it is connected to two other back up (reverse) switches.

Third wire

There is a plug with 5 wires coming out of the fuse box
one is yellow it goes to ignition
one is blue it goes to blinker flasher
one is green it goes to gear lever
one is pink it goes to instrument panel
And one is Black where dose it go not sure where it goes but my guess is the clock cause I don't have a wire for it?

Also I don't have a fusible link just a plan wire can anyone tell me what it looks like what its for and where to get one please.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks Nick

Ok all without the aid of a diagram and from an aged memory

from accelerator pedal, kick down for auto
reverse lights are wired from either shifter - auto or gearbox - manual from there wire goes to indicator switch, and then from there to rear indicators, front and rear indicators are wired separately from indicator switch as rears double as reverse lights.

black wire is for earthing and will go to a spade connection screwed to car body or will have a lug on it screw this directly to car body, a few are under a screw on the side of the steering column

Fuse-abe link can usually be added to battery connection

as for the other wires you are really testing my grey cells but
Pink is dim-able for dash lights
Yellow main feed wire
blue power feed to blinker flasher
green power feed to reverse switch

someone find a book please

Yep, kickdown to trimatic.

Second wire

Wires for the reverse lights.

The Reverse Lights are activated by the Neutral/Safety Switch on the gear stick only when the car is in Reverse and the Ignition is turned On.
Wiring to the box is most likely the pollution switch, where is it located on the box?

Not sure on a black wire here, usually earth around that area but stick your head under someones dash or trace it back the other way and test first sorry.

Fusible link is like the main fuse from the street in your house fuse box, there are alot of things not fused in an old car so use one, they look like a normal wire, have a sparky make one up with two connectors to place it in line from the battery or borrow one from a gemini or something.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks Nick

Thanks cruiza and Terry

I'll double check the black wire.

With the reverse wires just to the safety switch OK or continue to auto?

Only guessing here but I would say the yellow wire goes Accessories power and the green wire goes to the sender for the switch.

Can't edit, correction for above sorry Nick,
Only guessing here but I would say the yellow wire takes power when the key is on/ignition, so you get reds and the green wire goes to the sender for the switch.

They already seem to be connected, might connect the cluster up on the weekend and see what's not working.
Thanks Terry

No fusable link on the battery, it needs to be in the power feed wire from the starter to the rest of the car.
the power feed to the rest of the car is the red wire that goes on the starter terminal that your battery lead goes to.

Yellow wire goes to the park brake switch not switched 12v power. Pink wires are the power feed from the ignition.
Green wire goes to the engine temperature sender.

Thanks for that nemo355v8 I noticed it on the wiring diagram I have cheers.

Thanks S pack,I will have to follow the wires to see where the hand brake and temp wires lead to, cause I thought they were connected into the harness already.
