The girlfriend that rolled his SS down a bank was long gone too!
Anyway
I know that it came off a LX and KMac made it
I think it was forward facing
It is a serious bit of hardware compared to the factory job!
I havent figured out how to copy the IMG address on photobucket - maybe too late on a Friday night?
There should be 4 images on there.
My link
Any more info would be appreciated - I am unsure about the wisdom of fitting this to my own hatch

That is quite different than the one I have got - not surprising really considering they are seriously different vintage
I am curious where the differences are in the actual mounting points
I was going to get under my car one day and see if I could figure out where it fits - just out of curiosity- but havent been able to get near it for some time
I like the idea of having a big heavy retro bar on the old girl, but it already has the factory rear facing bar that I have squeezed a set of extractors and a winged sump up against
I figure the new adjustable bar like yours is a no-brainer as far as a performance upgrade goes - but would like some feedback on the old KMac one I have compared to the factory one already on the car
Anyone?

The brackets bolt on to the bumper mount bracket.
If you ask M-MAC they will tell you that they have not changed the design since Bathurst although it is clear that there are many variations. The one thing they all have in common until yours is that they are adjustable.

Personally I'd be happy to fit it as long as there are no clearance issues.I am unsure about the wisdom of fitting this to my own hatch

The latest KMAC offering looks like the old Selby front mount bar, its flatter and mounts higher providing better clearance for the brake ducts.
To mount the current K-MAC bar you either mount it through the splash tray or remove the splash trays, the brackets clear the brake ducts.
According to REDA9X the HDT fitted a similar style bar and were banned from a meeting in 78. Race teams were not allowed to remove or modify the splash trays so the Bathurst K-MAC bar was designed to clear the splash tray.
The Selby/Whiteline swaybar is also flat but it is mounted low enough to clear the splash tray. (Not fitted in this picture)
