Long story short, my Tacho has started playing up & not working... I'm just wondering, if it ends up being more cost effective to replace it than repair it, it it an easy switch to put an aftermarket gauge in the cluster?
Has anyone done it, and what gauge did you use?

Theres also Namiiss guage&control in Newcastle 49611988.
Was only talking with them last week about the LC/LJ Torana tacho's and they said the common part that faults in them is about $180 to fix.

I have done it successfully but the steel panel on the back of the dash needs to be cut up to do so. I did it back in a time when they were still reasonably 'worthless'. Not everyone is willing to do this nowadays.

Use the back panel from a std dash.

I have a Autometer Sport Comp in there. As mentioned above i just cut up a standard dash metal bit, put my GTR speedo into it and wala, better than hacking up a proper dash back.

ive got a empty mint condition gtr cluster if anyone is interested in buying one. i bought it off a forum member but i have changed my mind.
