Hi All

Back in Nov. 2010, it was passed at the Club's AGM that we would investigate the change of our Club's Logo.

During the process it was found that through various reasons, that we should no longer use the current logo that has been a part of the Club since 1994.

Well after a long hard slog, the Hunter Valley Torana Club Inc. is pleased to release it's new logo for the future.

We are pretty happy with it...

Feel free to make comment...

cheers
Mick

Looks good Mick, I like it.

How will you guys transfer it to club merchandise? Is it easy to screen print etc?

Hi all i would just like to thank all the members of the Hunter Valley Torana club for having the courage move our club forward in such a big way. Not only have we changed our logo but added a motto as well plus an all new merchandise range has been added, giving members a greater choice.
To answer your question Big T we will be having T shirts screen printed, polos, race shirts, caps and beanies embroided. We already have one member asking for singlets as well!!!!!!
All club correspondence will have the new logo and motto attached as well.
We are aiming to have all merchandise orders from club members filled by Toranafest for our members to wear
We had a number of members put designs forward but this was a stand out winner as voted by club members.

Regards
Pete

It looks good Mick, however there are some things I am concerned about.

Are both cars original matching number cars? (I dont think so)

The LJ appears to be an XU1 but does not have XU1 stickers on it.
The tyres are extremely wide and the wheels dont look like Sprintmasters.

The SS looks nice with the appropriately fitted flares and body kit however I note the absence of the rubber insert on the front bar. (hmmmmm not good from a SS man)

Both cars have extremely dark tinted windows and IMHO would be illegal.
Both cars are two door which is nice but what about the 4 door versions and dont get me started on not promoting the UC torana.

All in all, pretty good job and if you havent worked it out by now, all this is said in jest. (LOL) .

Keep up the good work and see you at Toranafest.

As someone who works in the Signwriting and Garment printing game i am curious of something.......will this actually be screen printed or heat pressed onto your merchandise.

Also the kerning in the Hunter text is to narrow ie:it all letters blend into each other and the grey drop shadow is set at a different arc to the text :ie disapears on the right hand side.

Aslso the Hunter valley text is not in the middle of the red wings:ie spacing is not the same on both sides.

Sorry to nit pic,but if your going to pay good money to have this done it should be right before you start.

The over all design is excellent just a few touch ups needed.

Waldorf

It will be screen printed on the club T shirts and embroided on the rest.
It was actually created by one of our members.
regards
Pete.

Hi Waldorf

as part of the design brief, we were aware of the fact that whatever the design was, it needed to be easily adaptable for all type of media. That included screen printing, embroidery, small and large format printing.

The end result is that we have a number of different "variations" of the logo, depending on the format needed. here are some examples..

For embroidery onto black background (Large)
Posted Image

For embroidery onto black background (Small) Subtle change to design to allow better detail of the cars when embroidered..

they all good designs......i would be very interested to see the finnished product.

Especially the pic for the small ones. I personally cant see it having that much detail with the finnished product.
I am not being negative, but if you shrink it down to the size for the front of the shirt or hat i think you will see what i mean.

cheers

Yeah,

you do lose some of the detail, but our main objective for the small logos were that the cars were still identifiable when embroidered.

I will post up some pics tomorrow when I get the shirts, etc.

G'day Mick

Logo looks good but for me the white stripes in those red wing things would look better in BLACK like this.
The black ties in with the black lettering and the black outline of the red TORANA

Will call soon about a certain car for the Fest.

+ the tyres appear to be out to the guards! Has it been approved by the Newcastle HWP? Can a club logo be unroadworthy?
