I have got a price from Dash resto's in South Oz and are wondering if they are still the only ones that do it?
Any recent good / bad reports? -- i know the time taken was a issue with some but not a problem here
Also was quoted $350 for a crash pad remould -- is this good / bad and does any one else do it
Has anyone had one done as i would like to know how the quality side of things went
Cheers
Dave

Time has come to start something at least with the car

Unless you want brand new i would just suggest keeping tabs on ebay for your required bits as people from time to time sell A1 parts. Im sure you would pick them up over the coming months. imo

Datto -- how would you rate the quality and material used -- the 2nd one that is and did they put up a fight over the first (normally a good guage as to what their like)
LHVD69 -- in the 2 to 3 years i have been looking or at least keeping an eye out for a silver dash (complete) i have only seen 1 come up on e-bay and from memory it went for something rediculous like 5 grand
I seem to recall there was a thread on it
BTW check your PM box
Anyone else??

$1200 for a full dash resto vs $1500 from Dash Resto's in SA -- both exclude repairs
$400 for the crash pad vs $350 from SA
They have a website for those interested http://www.classicau...holstery.com.au
Any photo's they had bar whats on the site were lost in the big computer crash of 2010 apparently
They did seem pretty knowledgable though

It cost a lot of money, but I'm extremely happy with it, and don't mind paying for quality.

Paul, do you have any before shots to give us an idea of what they have actually done ie. fix holes/cracks, repair radio hole, paint, etc.
Just interested to see the difference, everyone puts up after pics, but there are no before pics to compare to the after ones.

All I have is this crappy little photo. The dash was ordinary but no major issues, I had the demister switch removed and filled in and a broken away piece just near the fuse panel replaced and the knobs restored.
I had the dash at the factory ready to pack it off to Dash Original and one of my employees bumped the ashtray and broke the plastic off down the side, so I purchased a new one from Rares and sent that down and got them to colour match that with the dash.

If you are going to send the dash via courier then you will need to make a strong wood or steel box to put the dash in.

I got the dash pad, seat trim, vinyl trim from Todd at rare parts in welspool, seems like good quality, but check his prices out as some seem a bit high.
Cheers.

The dash i have in the car has been painted black and the ashtray is an original (couple of old Winnie red butts still in it) but is grained so by my reckoning is LH so it will have to go
Thanks for the reply Todd... long time no hear and hope all is well -- bit of a worry re the colour mismatch as spending this kind of money i would want a spot on job -- nah actually spending any kind of money i would want a spot on job. Was this a while ago? as she (Sharon) seemed pretty confident over the phone about their capabilities
ls2 -- yep be as handy as hell using a WA based mob as have mates and co heading to the big smoke all the time
Just need to know they can deliver the quality
