I love a flared LC/LJ. This is a mate of mines from about 1985.

They did make a kit for em some years back, designed off the Big Torana's scoop flares, not sure if these are still available new though... Have always liked steel pumped guards myself when done correctly ((Get em wrong though or decide not the look you're after & a lotta work to repair)) so these bolt ons sort of suit & look OK I guess, esp with the front spoiler fitted...

Lc four Door,

the guards on my car on the front were way out there, I have no idea how the hell they got them so wide, the rears were not so bad , but you have to interfere with the inner guard ( rear) and the join with the quater panel above the squrea lip in order to get it wider.

I would not do it, the cost not only to do ( panel beating ) and the finish would be one that you REALLY wanted. If it's on a four door then this is a bigger problem as the arch of the rear door and the edge of the door may need to be modified as you would know and how the door finished.

I did look at some of the cars above and the flares did look tough on the cars and the stance is fat and wide, I don't really mind it in some way, but i really love the square wheel arch.

PS, i really didn't wish that i had to replace the ones on my car as this is such a bigger and costly job than the front guards.

all the best with your car as it's personal and they look FAT with them done, Im just after a clean standard car.

grant
