found this
VERSION 2.0 JANUARY 2011
Table LA1 Recommended Maximum Engine Capacity
MASS OF VEHICLE
Maximum Engine Capacity (refer to notes below)
Naturally Aspirated Turbo/Supercharged
All vehicles originally weighing
less than 800 kg.
Original mass (kg) x 3.0
= max. capacity in cc’s
Original mass (kg) x 2.5
= max. capacity in cc’s
All vehicles originally weighing
between 800 kg and 1100 kg.
Original mass (kg) x 4.0
= max. capacity in cc’s
Original mass (kg) x 2.75
= max. capacity in cc’s
All vehicles originally weighing
more than 1100 kg.
Original mass (kg) x 5.0
= max. capacity in cc’s
Original mass (kg) x 3.0
= max. capacity in cc’s

so if someone could tell me which 1973 LJ is the heaviest ,that would be great.

I googled it and there are to many variations,
one shows that the 73 Bathurst XU1 to be over 1100Kg.
so if anyone has some documentation to show this that would be great.

thank you

60 Years of Holden by Terry Bebbington aka Dr Terry pg 336.

LC GTR XU1 1102 kg
LJ GTR XU1 1096 kg

In theory you should be able to use the LC weight which just gets you into the next category.

Looks like this table from the NCOP. Don't know if that applies in VIC. It makes quite a difference if they will accept the LC GTR XU1 weight.

Buy the book and it should do the job :) You can check with the author as he is a member here.

Apparently the figures in the book are from either GMH documents or CAMS documents.

It would probably be quicker/simpler to talk to Dr Terry and your engineer. Hopefully the book is enough.

The book also has other specifications that come in handy for engineering modifications.

hi i will check all of the manuals, bulletins, technical letters and engineering documents that might be held at the victorian automobile chamber of commerce.

They have nearly every publication released since 1917 ,i was a employee in their technical research department,  theyre library is bigger than most local libraries, i will be going in next week and will try find documents with weights over the 1100kg mark. I need to get this for my upcoming project. will keep you posted.

forgive the punctuation, i hate typing on a mobile
