Thats an ugly drum

HQ and Falcon are 10" diameter

And the shoes look like this

SO I'd say Ford bits are contaminating your car by the looks

The stud pattern of the flange will be different to HQ.

will do some measuring tonight but im pretty sure the stud pattern is HQ which will explain the various sets of holes drilled in the drum :(

Ive done some measurements
diff flange without taking the axle out measured from side of bolt to side of bolt and approx 3.54 and 2.36 which means its probably big ford
stud pattern is 4.75 which is HQ

the current shoes dont seem to fit right either the ends that sit agaisnt the pivot seem to sit out to far from the edge they i think are supposed to sit on

i think the best solution is to pull the diff apart and get the ends changed to hq flanges so i can run drum brakes with correct drum bolt holes

any suggestions

Took some pics of current shoes i have and the problem with them atm they dont seem to sit on the pivot very well does anyone know what the drums may be off im not sure how much meat is enough to get them skimmed the current shoes have uneven wear and theres a groove inside one of the drums is it possible to get blank drums drilled in whatever pattern needed?

Have encountered more issues it seems one axle is different to the other as it holds the drum further enough to leave a 5mm gap between the drum and bacing plate ive decided i should fix it good by getting new axles and sourcing some hq drum brakes and get it all changed over so i dont have a mutant retarded brake setup was qouted $1100 for set of billet axles does that sound right taking diff down to diff shop tomorrow and they will give me a firm quote on how much i need to spend

Axles sound like they are on the expensive side. You would need to know what brand and type of axle to be sure.

If you know what you are doing you could by a pair for axles from Strange or Moser for under USD $400. Should be able to land them using a freight forwarding company for around $300 by air or even cheaper if you use ls1lxhatch.

Bit of a update pulled the diff apart to have a better look at what i have found a rather large crack running along the housings diff centre bolt up face and for some reason they cut and shut the upper control arm mounts and bogged over it to make it look nice also one axle was billet and the other was some random crap only saving grace was the centre was 3.5 mini spool like the previous owner said and seems to be in good nick getting some quotes to get a new housing and axles knocked up as its waste of money to try and fix the abortion i currently have
