Hi, I have just upgraded the dash on my 253 torana to the slr dash.
This may be a stupid question but the volt meter doesn't move at all even though I get the battery light coming on when ignition is on. Is there a separate wire that need to be run for the voltmeter?? First time using an slr dash. Help would be appreciated.

Cheers

The existing wiring is sufficient to make that gauge work - the only extra wire required is for the tacho
Was the engine running when you tried it cause mine doesn't start working until the alternator is charging.

Engine was running but only for a minute or so, I thought the gauge would come up straight away?

AFAIK you shouldn't need to start the engine for the Batt gauge to register, once the ignition is turned to the 'on' position there will be power flow to the gauges.

If your Batt gauge doesn't register even with the engine running for a while then your gauge might be in need of repair or replacement.

You got me wondering about this Dave, so I turned the ignition on and waited.

You are correct, the gauge does climb without the engine running (just very slowly). My bad
