G'day boys,
Just purchased a LJ and noticed the rear tyres are 225/60 13 and the fronts 205/60 13.
It took me a week to realise this so it's not that noticable when on the car.
Question is, when I've finished the car and it goes over the pits, is it legal or will they spit the dummy.
This is a WA law question.
Cheers
Marty

4.2.5 Tyre Aspect Ratio
Because of the different handling characteristics, the aspect ratio of tyres fitted to the front axle must not vary by more than 10 from the aspect ratio of tyres fitted to the rear axle (e.g. 175 65 R14 front and 205 45 R14 rear, has an aspect ratio difference of 20 and is not recommended, whereas 175 65 R14 front and 195 60 R14 rear has a difference of 5 and has similar handling characteristics).

reading point 4.2.5 it may be legal as long as the aspect ratio is under 10. God knows how you work that out?
Your tyres have the same aspect ratio (60). What they are saying is you can have a maximum aspect ratio (profile) difference of 10. For example 50 front 60 rear or 40 front 50 rear but not 40 front 60 rear.
225/60 13 and the fronts 205/60 13
There is also a rule regard difference in width but you are within that.
I have WA approval for 215/40/17 fronts and 235/40/17 rears.

4.2.5 Tyre Aspect Ratio

What about people that run say 18" on the front & 20" on the back? I ask because I want to run 16" ve chasers fronts to clear my brakes & 15" vb-vz rims on the back because I've got a shed load of them.
I got knocked back for RWC with differenbt diameter rims front and rear. You do realise that the centre bores on the VE rims are smaller than the VB - VZ rims?
