Hi Guys,
what cars have the single chrome shifter shaft and what ones come with the vibration bush?
I'm fitting a 4 speed to replicate a 73 GTR and I have a shifter with the dampener but think it's the wrong one.

Rare spares list the one piece chrome but have seen a few on the forum with dampener?

Cheers

Hi

The plain chrome one with the bend is correct. The straight damper types from the LH LX fit ok and the damper is hidden in the vinyl cover but the stick can foul on the handbrake lever. I had this trouble with my XU-1 when I first got it.

I ended up puting one with the damper bush and its all good...

The Rares one's are what you need if you are happy to spring the $$$... I will prob go that way down the track but for now, I'll spend the $$$ on other things I need...

Its added to the wish list as is the GTR steeing wheel!!

Hows it coming along Martin?

Cheers..

G'day Eric,
It's frustrating having the car sit there while I go about home reno's.
I use the evenings to source parts and info. Parts I have brought so far are, washer tank, grill emblem, GTR door trims, Ignition and lock set and transfers. I have put in my order for the GTR steering wheel at RSP and it has arrived, my wife insists on paying for it as a thank-you for the renos.
She also paid for the Torana, I'm a lucky guy. :-)

Cheers
Martin

WooHoo!! mate!! I reckon let her!!! It's the least she can do!! lol.... Lucky you are...

I must say that trying to get the parts you need can be challenging but I enjoy doing the research and digging around... Bit by bit mate... Are you enjoying the car in the meantime or is it still not rego'ed?

Looks like the Perth guys are getting a nice little group of cars together... we should all get together some time...

Keep us posted on your progress mate..

Cheers.

Not rego'd but I'd prefer it that way at the moment.
