What tips do you use to get a nice look to your sealer?

I've just used some inside the guards which won't be visible. What can I do when it comes to the engine bay and boot.

This is what I'm using at the moment and the messy looking result.

Do you use tape either side then peel off for clean edge???

Thanks

I would use a paintbrush and thinners to make it look a little neater.

Or thinners on your fingertip works good too.

Soudal make a brushable seam sealer it comes in a one litre tin. It doesn't slump and flatten out like the stuff you are using. Toranas are meant to have brush marks in the sealer and no tape edges they are meant to look hand finished, which they were. Each to his own though it depends on the look you are going for.

Cheers Dave

When still wet.. Go over with prepsol.. nice and neat..

Also..do what u do when tiling.. apply the bead, then lighly wet with soapy water..Use a paddle pop stick to flatten..It wont stick to the soapy water...

I prefer it looking neat..

Mike

While we are on the subject can anyone please tell me what the white sealant along the outside join of the taillight / rear stonetray panel and the rear quarters is and what it should be replaced with ?

Can I just use bog to smooth the join or should I use something else ?

Thanks
