I'm fitting a 73 stone guard to a 72 LJ. There are at least four differences between the two. Anyone know all four?

Steve's got one, sorry Craig but that's not on my list. I knew about the extra bracing so I have cut the holes in the front but when fitting I realised there are other differences. Attached File  ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375449327.959740.jpg   96.3K   11 downloads

Yeah the one on my LC didn't have any bracing like that one.

Also I don't think the rear edge on the sides was turned in like that?

And I think it finished where the side wall finished whereas that one has a bit extra at the back.

I don't know about the differences, but it is a part that I take off and hang on the wall. They make working on the car such a pain in the ass.

I perceive a point of difference is the spacing of the 4 holes along the front edge of the stone tray, where 4 self tapping screws affix the stone tray to the valance.

Yes emJ, the 73 has two extra holes along the front edge because the other holes are under the braces. That's difference number two.

Ok, obviously this was too hard so here are the remaining differences.

Number three is the holes where it mounts to chassis are different. I had to weld up chassis hole and drill and tap new one on each side.

Number four is the shape of tray at the rear has been trimmed.

The 73 6 cyl guard won't fit a 72 4 cyl?
