Hi all, ive been pondering different directions for my project, and got to thinking ive never seen a Torana with a roof chop.

After looking at plenty of pics of different angles i dont really think it would suit the lines, but i assume someone out there has done it so was wondering if anyones got any pics?

I am currently assisting a young fellow who apparently used to be a member here. A chop of somewhere between 100-150mm is being attempted.

100-150mm chop would mean forehead windburn for my fat head.

I don't think torries suit a chop (not for my taste anyhow).

My god I remember that car when we used to go down to the now defunct Ravenswood. I must be getting old as I have not been to the drags since those Ravenswood days in the old panel vans. We used to back them up to the fence running down the side of the strip and sit on the tail gate. Great old days.

Cheers guys. As expected, they seem to look a little odd in my eyes! Bit of a jelly bean feel about this one^^.

Looking forward to seeing the results Vick.

If you cover the front they almost look like hardtop falcons.

It's not my car, so it's up to the owner whether pics get posted or not. I'm just doing the welding. The final chop will depend largely on how low the aftermarket front seats can be mounted.

I have seen a chopped Torana. I used to work during the early 90's at Nowra on the NSW South Coast. I worked with a guy who had a convertible LH. I don't have any photos of it though sorry.

I do remember on a number of occasions returning to the car, to find some stranger sitting in it having a look around. I recall it had the usual problem, that it could be started without a key, and that was always a worry as well. But I will say I loved the look of it, where others did not.
