Nothing wrong with it, but I'd personally remove it as it would bug me eventually.

It's up to you, it's your car.

However that said, FYI, you can now get aerials that don't get mounted outside. They are a small box that you can mount under the dash, or in the love box, or even under the seat. I believe they work ok but not as good as the conventional aerials. Check them out at auto barn or jb to make your own decision.Nthese days I very rarely listen to the radio, mainly iPod or phone.

For what it's worth, I think those aerials suit the period of car.

Once pulled front apart and had a good look soon realised front had copped a whack

Radiator panel had been patched up with bog and painted over and also twisted

My mate who's from the old school hand beated and rubbed it until it was straight

Suspected front rails bent so I laser plumbed it all along the rails from front to back

Then marked it all on the floor and measured and found that it is only the last 300mm bent out of shape by about 15mm

Easy fix

For my mate

gday

looks to be a really good shell, (although paint hides alot as i found out)

love the choice of going the old skool color, keep the aerial where it is just make sure its sealed real good to keep the water, moisture out.

good luck and wil be keeping an eye out for updates

regards adam

Nice project. Thats cool that you weighed it bare also. There was discussion on here while ago where punters were speculating about the weight of a bare Torana shell.

Yeh the dipping process shows up all the hidden secrets

Next step is to hand her over to my mate who's gonna perform miracles with body work and paint

If its an original slr I would paint it according to the tag as well. I am not envious of the position though as there are so many wicked colours to choose from these days.

Currently polishing rims. At the moment they are gold inserts.

If I keep the car yellow, do you think the inserts would be better in gold or black?
