I don't want to 'rain on your parade' guys, but most of that surging is a fuel mixture issue not just a lumpy cam.

I don't get the whole show-car scene, at all. What was holding the rear end in that last car, blu-tack and rubber bands? I can only assume the wheely bars are there to stop it from rolling right out from under the car.

I don't get the whole show-car scene, at all. What was holding the rear end in that last car, blu-tack and rubber bands? I can only assume the wheely bars are there to stop it from rolling right out from under the car.


Ha ha was thinking the same thing oldjohnno rear end looks like its ready to fall out judging by the wheelie bars....

Mostly due to the valve timing of the cam, and the terrible air speed through the carb/manifold/inlet port at idle.

 

Sadly you cant have something that works everywhere in the rev range, and if idling is your least priority and the power you make between 8-9000rpm is what your chasing, they will do that.
