Hi ,

im trying to get a nice stance on my LX with A9X flares and 285/40r15 tyres on it , Ive tried the Camira spring mod  but makes it sit just that bit too low and ive tried the IRS 260mm springs and is just too high with the profile of these tyres  :banghead: .

Before i go spending more money and cutting down springs to suit is anyone here running these tyres on a flared torry with a nice stance to it ? Pic's would be great if anyone has anything available .

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that info Welby and thats a killer hatch you have there , Had a look at the Lovells  catalogue and noticed they do a lowered version as well , any idea how much lower than standard hight or lower than the heavy duty ones like on your hatch ? Reason being im not running a drop tank and wont be for some time so i think with the weight of tank it will be sitting higher .

Hi George

I run 285/40/15's, flares and i have 1/4 drop tank of fuel at the moment.

I will push it out in the next few days and get some snaps for you.

Hi George.

Sorry for the late reply.

 See the photos attached.

yoki 285/40/15's all round on 10's

Front Springs 1200 pound King 1 inch lowered.

Rear. Lovelll's standard ride height and pound.

I have some King 1 inch lowered standard pound i may put in the rear a bit later to see how they look as i think it could come down an inch in the rear.

Hope this helps.

Evan.

Hi Evan ,

Thanks for the effort and pics mate  :spoton: .   yeah i have come to realise that im not going to get the correct stance with off the shelf springs and after working it out the hard way ( standard camira springs and King Spring's Camira springs along with IRS springs , all cut to suit )   Ive found a spring manufacturer that i will be getting some made .

Here is my car and hight i will be getting them made to.

Regards George

George. They are some wide rear flares and it will look great sitting at that height.  Good to hear you found someone that can make some springs for you.

Kirk.

A 60 series would struggle with clearance in a standard Torana guard without being hacked to pieces. Also they don't handle very well.

Clint. They are AVS like the ones on eBay. 120 tread wear and W speed rating which is great! I just got mine through Wheels on Yirrigan Tyres & More. Much cheaper than that bloke on eBay too.

Rears are no problem but it takes a bit of work to get them on the front as i am covering in this thread. I will update the thread again soon.

Thanks Evan , i ended up going with the A9X ones . Is there a diference in rear bump stops for the A9X compared to the standard Torana's ?

Clint - i purchased my tyres from Traction Tyres in Victoria , cost was about $440 a tyre and the guys there usually bring a run into Oz .

Wouldn't have a clue about the bump stops George. I'm sure someone on this forum would know.

The bumps stops are about 30mm extra in length than stockers.

Cheers Welby , final stages mate . its been a long 5 years in the build and just trying to get it ready for the summer .

Thanks for that info guys , Im spewing i didnt look into this when i got the diff built , i could of modified the mount on the diff  :banghead:

I might have to look into finding a longer rubber bump stop off another model that will fit , if there is such ???
