Does anyone have a picture of the fixings for the grill to nose cone? I have these ones pictured below for the headlight bezels but they are too small for the grill top.

Is the hole in the top centre of grill original? If it is it looks like my nose cone has been cut out because theres no where to screw too.

Also the bonnet stop, compare the Rares one to my original, why do they only supply one nut and no washers? The guy at rares reckons the adjuster screws into body work and only one nut is required to lock it. I say he's wrong. Attached File  IMG_3920.jpg   34.53K   3 downloads

Cheers Marty

Marty

Your grille and nose cone are correct. You have to slip one of these clips

post-29243-0-18167300-1381224567.jpg

onto the vee so the screw hole is in the middle of the vee.

Bonnet buffer bolt with two washers and nuts is correct for LC/LJ 6cyl.

The guy at your Rares store is probably thinking about HQ,HJ etc.

Thanks Dave and Ant,  Rares guy had the LC Parts manual out which showed the adjuster had one nut only. I told him the picture was of a 4 cyl set-up and the 6 must be different. He refused to believe they would make a different adjuster just for the 6 cyl and asked if mine was original.

So all I need is a picture of the fixings for the grill to nose cone.

Thanks

You already have a pic of them. Same clips and screws but the screws are longer and no I don't really feel like pulling one out of my grille right now to measure it. :)

Marty, the clips are not needed for the 2 central holes. The 2 screws goes through the 1/4" holes in the nose cone and self taps into the bonnet striker plate.  The outer mounting holes will require the clips.

Hi Ross, I think those two holes in bonnet striker are not used by the grill. They are nose cone to striker only. I don't have holes in grill for them, if that makes sense.

Sorry my misunderstanding, I thought you were referring to these screws.

I certainly was aware that these are just for the none cone to striker - the giveaway are the large cutouts in the grill  :spoton:

BTW my grill to nose cone screws I have are 6 or 8G x 3/4" Pan - however it is quite possible that these are not original.
