Hi Guys,

been reading through threads searching for an actual colour for the silver on the oil filler, GTR radiator fan and the front grill.

The best I can find is it's called 'Bright Silver' ? Does anyone have any more info than this? Also looks like if I go to the paint shop and ask for that they wont have a clue.....

I may be able to use it on the rear vision mirror stem too?

Cheers

Marty

Marty

Dulon Bright Silver 577-15769

I don't believe this is the colour used on the oil filer cap and not sure about the interior mirror stem or the sunvisor mounts colour.

Cheers

Dave.

Only the parts of the grille that are seen externally when installed in the car were painted.

That's not what I've heard. Silver for GTR fan. Anyone agree with me?

You may be right Marty. 82911 (excl XU1) fan has a different part number to the S & SL 6cyl fan.

So either there is a physical difference in the fan itself or the colour was different. Chrome maybe???

I was told by forum member with very original car and will dig up a photo. Not that that is proof.

Hi

The fan used on the non-XU1 202s in the LJ range is part number 2810488. That is the same part number for the fan used on the 2600S and 2850S in the LC range, The colour would therefore be black.

Cheers

Bazza

I'm still not convinced Bazza, that is just part numbers and we could be discussing a GTR LJ  not a just a 202 LJ S etc.

Anyway here are some pics of two very good restorations with at least one starting with an unmolestered car and making very good records before undertaking the rebuild.

Can any one else at least confirm the GTR's had a sliver fan and maybe someone knows the colour.

Thanks Guys

Marty

Holden did often match the colour of the oil filler cap & fan, for example black on XU-1, gold on X2, so perhaps the GTR fan was silver to match the oil filler cap. Just a thought.

Pete.
