Hey guys does anyone have any info about how many slr 5000 were made in salamanica red

a lot...one of the most populars colours in the LH range...a small example I've personally 6 L34s in that colour and countless SLRs

mines Mandarin Red and thinking about painting it Absinth Yellow ???????

salamanca red ceased around end oct. 74 then new colour range ie [manderin]

Mandarin actually replaced Salamanca before the end of HQ (in Aug-Sep '74 timeframe). Any remaining Salalmanca (and other unused HQ paint) was sent to Dandenong to be used on LH until exhausted. I have the paperwork here somewhere for it, I think all but 4 x colours were changed over before volume HJ production started.

If I had to pick a favourite LH SL/R colour i'd probably pick Saffron, Orchid or maybe Satin Mist. Hard choice!

I like mandarin very much, especially the way it look different shades in different light. But i always think of it as LX.

Absynth is not a favourite colour of mine, i've had a HX Monaro in that colour and of course i'm building my drive car as above. The colour doesn't seem to have much depth to it. I came within a sneeze of changing the yellow to something else.

Now Chrome Yellow, i like that very much.

I guess its all down to what you want mate.

Anyone have a photo of an Azure Blue L34? Saw a HQ Sandman mockup in this colour and it looked awesome. Just thought an LH with its similar-ish stripes and same wheels might look good too.
