Hi,

I'm getting ready to drill the badge holes and have measured up from this info.

When I use these measurements it looks to high.  Also when I put the badge over where the original Torana Badge holes were, it looks ok. It could be that LJ is different to LC? or I'm going crazy.

This pic is over original holes and is about 125mm up. If you look carefully you can see pencil marks of the 145mm position.

Could the LJ GTR boys please check the 145mm for correctness.  Measure from the boot lip up following the curve. Using a dressmakers floppy tape helps and won't scratch.

Ummmmmm....That 145mm could be bad info. Those measurements have been on here for a while, hope no one has used them if proven wrong.

OK guys, it's the weekend and you're wondering what to do..........grab a tape, measure distance and let me know.

Hmmm, I used those measurements. But I am happy with a replic'ish.

My boot lid has the holes patched up where the badge used to be and Dave and I both reckon that the 145 is correct but it should be to the top of the badge.

I have genuine LC GTR boot on my car measure lower edge of badge to boot lip is 104mm

Not sure if same position used on LC and LJ

I can email some pics if you need,

I wouldn't be surprised if they varied from the factory. They had some big tolerances back then. Just put it where you feel it looks right.

Talk to gunny, his gtr still has the badge and no spoiler.

Hi  Marty,

While the LJ boys get their heads together...here is a LC type....I believe this badge has never been off the car, so assuming factory.

Gong would know for sure?

I think you need to check lots of original cars before you start bagging out a long standing forum members info.

That's correct Blair, there will be no bagging before or after measurement is confirmed. Mistakes happen, it just amazes me it can go this long before being realized.
I still maybe wrong.

I don't think so. The photo of the wrong measurement, the badge looks in the correct position, it's just the measurement is suss.
