Note:the mitsubishi bearings i use are a heavy duty high capacity high clearance C3 doubble sealed bearing with a rev range up to 9000 revs so it can handle all modified high reving engines we only use quality parts in my boxes thats why they hold up so well and last a long time ......

I ended up blowing up 2 x  M20 Boxes,within 2 years in the LX when I first bought it and it was only a (Mild) 308 both of them striped teeth of second gear!!,do yours still use the standard Gears??

yes we use the standard gears but we have fixed holdens design faults check us out on our web site here is the link http://freewebs.com/aussie4speeds/  and see what we do to make them hold up to 355 strokers cheers !!!

some of us with original factory standard cars have no choice!
other than those lucky ones that had dealer fitted T10's
have to treat the old M21 gently these days

Aussies are delicate in the lower gears regardless of horsepower.

They are simply not  strong enough in the cluster/layshaft bearings.

 

BUT..................they are cheap to repair.

that's why we use the ford top loader lay shaft and rollers its much larger and makes the box tougher

  see we bore the cluster insert steel sleeves and bore the case see  this modification makes it hold up to 355 stroker

I have not had a race box come back yet .....
