Hi guys, was just about to torque up the pressure plate, so I go to the manual for torque specs and see this.

Clutch plate sits long hub in or out depending on 3 or 4 speed. Clutch plate has this side to fly wheel stamped on long hub side.

So have I got the wrong clutch plate? I did by the kit new/second hand from a guy who was fitting it to a three speed but said they are the same.

Hope I haven't made a mistake here. Specially with the pressure plate cause that's been balanced.

I have a 3 speed box and a 4 here in the shed and by using my eyes and finger ruler the shafts look the same?

Cheers

Marty

The LC shop manual is referring to the OPEL 4 spd not the Aussie M20. Aussie M20 clutch assy is the same as the 3 spd.

Sorry for a going a little off track but if got both kind of clutch plates ones with 4 springs (as pictured in the book)  and ones with 3 springs and 3 rubber dampeners (i guess thats what they are) is there any difference to them

Hi Danny, I think it just makes the clutch grab softer. Guessing?
