Ive allways wanted to install one of the GLIMER BELT DRIVE KITS onto the LX and am again looking at these and how easy they are to set up ( correctly). Theres some on ebay for $150 ( HI Energy) has anyone here used these ones??.

Just wondering how you guys set you your Alternator Brackets?, because my stock set up runs the Belt Very close to the Alternator bracket as it is. If someone has pics of their set up I'd really appreciate it

Im wondering if theres enough room between the AU Fans and the Water Pump

Hi Scott,

Jacob, has got his going, and he will be here soon,

but in my opinion, the friction will cost you some economy.

But you did say you have a standard engine, and it will make your motor look Powerful. Dave I

need the belt driving a booster

Been doing some more research on here and elsewhwere and most folk are saying  pay the extra and buy the DIECREST Kits, sounds like they are real pain to line it all up properly and if you don't then you are sure to have problems.

The other thing that concerns me is wearing out the Water Pump and Alternator Bearing quickly by running one of these?,is there any truth to this?,ive just allways wanted one for the Fantastic Noise they make..LOL

From the end of my Water Pump Pulley to the AU Fans I only have 50mm

Surely, using a belt with teeth would mean you could run less tension, and therefore less stress on the bearings.

Engine has been running this gilmer for 20years+ without issue

But seriously, how many people would buy one of these if they fitted a square Torana?

^ Everyone seems to love those one piece serpentine belt setups, personally I think they are ugly and would rather have multiple belts...

Surely, using a belt with teeth would mean you could run less tension, and therefore less stress on the bearings.

Yes they can run quite loose, but they don't make much noise like that so people tend to over-tighten them which creates significantly more load than a properly tensioned V belt
