Hi guys, just come across a different core. Thinner one I'm guessing TA model cause it looks like a modern design. If they're both tested and ok, which one would you use? Cheers. Martyzejata5y.jpgaqyryra8.jpg

The top one in the first pick is correct, but the other one looks like it would work better.

Cheers.

Marty the thinner one looks to be in better condition and I,d probably use this one , the fins on the fatter one are a bit shabby .

Although looking at the quality of your build car which is pretty good , think about a new one , I bought one through the local radiator guy and wasn,t expensive.

Those things make a mess of your interior when they give up.

Also if you want to use either of them get them pressure tested first. There's a lot of hard ache in changing a core over once in the car.

cheers

Thanks, if I can get a new one for a fair price I will. WhiteA9xs, was yours an Lj core you got new? I didn't think they were available. If I use one of these it will definately be tested first. <br />Still no answer on what model it might be out of?

Marty, top one is LC, bottom one is LJ/TA, however I don't know if the tank change was made during LC or LJ production.

The core in your LJ one is a recore. The LJ core was basically same design as the LC core.

I have an original LJ heater core assy with the date code 83S if you need a pic.

Marty it was a natra agent radiator shop , although it was 5 years ago , but they still produced them the same as original as natra was the original supplier , memory was about 100 dollars each new so I bought 2  .

just make a phone call to see if they still supply , natra rad shop in most major towns .

Now known as Natrad , found there website with a location directory , quite a few shops in perth , you may get lucky if no longer made with one shop having unused old stock

Correction to my previous post. The date code on my old core is B3S so Feb 1973. Most likely the original (leaky) core from my 4/73.
