Is this a 3 on the tree column?
Can't remember seeing one of those pins before, maybe from the ignition barrel? Actually looks like a needle roller from a gearbox input shaft.

What are your thoughts on the plastic sheild Dave?
You don't need the gear change tube nylon bearing in a console shift column.

The brass pin looks about the right size for the spring loaded pin that the horn uses , never had one out so I couldn't tell you for certain .

I'm sure that pin has come out of the lock barrel. Still works but the key-hole-surround tends to come away from column and I presume the missing pin is the culprit.

Says in the LJ ignition lock cylinder tumbler installation instructions to (step 6) " Depress spring loaded detent pin on opposite side to anti theft ring tab, then ease key entrance end of lock cylinder further round in a counter clockwise direction, disengaging lock cylinder assembly from sleeve"
Yeah, looks like the spring loaded pin for the horn.
Horn contact pin is made of sintered bronze and has a wire attached to the end of it.

Thanks Dave and Tony.
Definitely not the horn one.
Next time the barrel comes out I'll fix it.
