Hi guys, here I have my loom from a manual column 3 speed. a5eseve5.jpg. Now this one is a spare loom from some other Torana. abenydad.jpg. Is the second pic a 4 speed manual? Just need to know how to convert my 3 speed loom to a 4 speed. What's that disused wire near high beam clip for? Ta. Marty.

That orange wire looks like a kick down switch wire , maybe from a trimatic  LJ ?

^^^ Agree, orange wire goes from kickdown switch to kickdown solenoid on transmission.

At the bottom of pic of wiring loom you can see two wiring connectors, one has two green wires (reverse switch) , the other has two violet wires (neutral start).

Yes, that's the wire I thought was for reverse. What do I need to do to the 3 speed manual loom to get the reverse wire and handbrake switch wire? Thanks guys. I know this is mentioned on forum somewhere. Just lazy. :-). Marty.

in the first photo you have a flat plug with green wires. it has  floor, steering column written on it,these green wires go to the reverse switch in no particular order.

The tan wire with the female bullet connector near the dipper switch plug is for the handbrake light.

hope that helps.

cheersRodney

Hi Marty,

Where do the wires come from when they are hooked up? Near the high beam switch or somewhere else?

I've been trying to find my reverse wires but don't know where to look!

I know where they plug into, just not where I can find the plug!

Hi Craig, my rev wires are about 100mm back from high beam clip. They are for a column shift but I'll join them up somehow. They should be in your loom, just got to find the correct colour.

Here's the reverse plug, wires and grommet. I got this from your wreck Craig last year, just found it. Yay. 7azetage.jpg

Oh I didn't mean to give you that can I have it back?

Hahaha, just kidding mate. I'm glad at least some of it is being reborn.

I feel like I've made a slight contribution :-)

Hi, did the early reverse switches have a connection at or around the switch itself?

Mines as below but was wondering about the main harness plug pictured being 25mm wide &

the trans tunnel hole at 15mm.

Cheers, J

Jono, the wires are fed through the hole in the tunnel from inside the cabin to the reverse switch. The original LC & LJ  Aussie 4spd reverse switch has two male spade connectors so the end of the harness has two corresponding female spades which are an easy fit through the hole.

Thanks Dave, my switch & lead are all one so's been changed, explains why its been

chopped & joined a few times (1 was me). My HQ parts cat is a 1977 reprint so was only

giving me info on a switch assy. I've got the spade terminals out atm & was going to refit

them & connect once all in, dosnt help the next person that pulls the box out tho, probly

should fit a plug/connector before the switch I 'spose.

cheers.
