Hello and Welcome to the Wild World of Concept Building.

Here we are going to go on a journey, of transforming a LC 4 door to a 2 Door Super Rat Torana look-a-like.

Now, above is a Concept picture, representing an image to be transformed into, and from a humble 1969 LC 4 Door:-

Attached File  IMG_4831.JPG   32.4K   12 downloadsAttached File  IMG_4832.JPG   37.78K   13 downloads

This 4 Door Torana will be having a few unusual things done to it like:-

- all the Rust panels repaired

- the rear doors welded in

- rear 2 door side windows extended

- a widened grille

- sunken headlights

- an A9X bonnet scoop

- an Extreme Engine

- side pipes

- all round tough suspension

- RAT finishes

- GTR-XU1 features

- Custom Plates

- Dark Tinted windows

- Spoilers

- Upmarket Rims

- Chrome, Lightning strikes, Bullet holes and fake rust

- to be road registered as a two seater

Just to name a few, and by clicking on parts of the image above, you will be taken to those related threads.

Great Motivation You Guy's,

I see the Split images this morning on my Mobile are just scrambled,

because the picture pieces are to big for the screen to be in order, for looking like a Car,

and I had to change the Mobile format to Classic Site, to get the URL redirection from each picture piece.

Any how, the picture comes together properly on the Main Computer Big Screen.

This weekend, for a starter, is getting the bonnet into 426 Protec etch primer, with action pictures to follow.

Preparation for the A9X Bonnet scoop.

I guess you can do anything with a Modification certificate TBM,

will need something like that for the sunken headlights and deep grille insert.

im thinking about the gap or even water getting between it then lays under the scuff panel etc

cause the dr is only welded from outside but nothing to fill where rubber is ,you know what i mean

No gaps Maz Mate,

will be like a 2 door how the rear side window fits in,

forget there was a set of rear doors there, no lock's, winder, hinges etc,

just the seal where the rear side windows sit in.

im thinking about the gap

ha ha, sorry Maz,

should be easy to do, and the side windows will be fixed.

:sofa:

after doing the Bonnet, scoop, and boot/ bobtail,

I will start on the rear door disappearing act,

you made it happen first on the RAT Thread Maz.

it is just that the front doors will still be 4 door doors.

Great work Maz,

I seen Vintage converting a 4 Door to a 2 Door without first getting an Engineers Advice,

and others were asking him to do so, but he continued on, so we never seen the outcome.

As far as I know, he had only converted one side.

I should of got into more detail of how each job was getting done, as I see now, thank's to you.

This is not a normal Torana Restoration hey,

so I think the only other major change is the sunken headlight supports, which should be covered in the Widened LJ Grille Thread.

and the concaved sills, which will be covered in the Sill Mufflers Thread

p.s. someone could correct me if I am wrong, thank's in advance.

p.p.s. photo's of the bonnet, scoop, boot, bobtail this weekend

This way, I can sit in the Rust bucket and see something cosmetic done for progress.  :deal:

Bobtail comes off, and the top of the boot lid will get rubbed back, and get a coat of 426 Protec etch primer.
